Good morning. I think there is a two-part answer to your question. The first part is that back in ancient times, God's purpose was to populate the earth. But rather than follow God's instructions, they chose to build a city and a tower that would basically be an insult to him. These people had already taken on a variety of different beliefs. When God confused their languages and different language groups took off separately they took their religious practices with them. This explains why there are so many similarities in a lot of religions today. For instance, almost every religion has a belief in some form of Noah's flood account.

The second factor is that when within one religion, a group of people decide they just don't like a particular teaching they will often separate into a splinter organization.

The truth is simply stated at Eph. 4:5... "One lord, one faith, one baptism." How to find the ONE faith? Study the scriptures to detemine what GOD requires...not what is tradition, not what is personal choice. Then, if a particular religion is found to be practicing what God condemns, obviously they can't be true. But you have to be humble enough to make a course correction when your personal beliefs differ with what the scriptures dictate.

Religion today has become like fashion. Many people are looking for a religion that suits them. But what they should be looking for is one that suits God.
Many things practiced in today's religions are rooted in paganism. If these things are removed - we are left with a true pure worship. There is one religion that worships God with this pure worship.

If we are truth seekers then we will search for what that true religion is.
The only way we can do that is by examining each religion by God's Word the Bible to see how it stands up with the truth. If it doesn't - then cross it off your list until you are left with the one that follows the teachings in the Bible to the letter - that is the true religion and the only one acceptable to God.
The Bible does NOT teach that all roads lead to God

In many ways a good question but then religion is man made to a certain degree some people believe that they are the new messiah and people believe.

One god is right as you say but he has many names so therefore that is how different religions manifest.

Tommy, Religion is an evolutionary process just like every other process in the biological world. My European ancestors carried the "goddess of plenty" with them during their travels, because they were often starving. The Jewish religion started in Summaria, and like all new things the Summarians feared this new God and forced them to flee...there were many many more than just Abraham. Christianity as you know was borne from the misery of Caesar Agustus's yoke. Islam was borne from the darkness of 535 ad, and was created to fill the vacuum left by the fall of the empire. Yet there is one God. He is the basic fabric of every atom in every molecule in the Universe.

Because their isn't just 1 god in my religion there is a god and goddess so there theory busted, more importantly until 1-X big invisible guys/girls desend from whereever and say, "Yo damn you got it all wrong, Sheesh let me tell you whats up." we just won't know maybe mine is right, maybe your right, hell maybe atheiests and all organised science is right either way we all got the right to believe whatever till something proves the entire population wrong, remember there was religions even with the cavemen that are long time forgotten and no longer practiced and yet who better than those who came first (time line wise) to tell us the truth we need to look further back to get a better idea

How one religion could be taught to all mankind when we had no universal language, no means of communication at the speed of light, no unified Internet system...?
Since 1844, the One True God had established one religion for all mankind, and His Messenger for this global age had explained all questions concerning the process of Progressive Revelation.
The World Educator teaches His believers how to love all mankind, regardless of religions, cultures, ideologic systems...
Believe or not, you will see with your own eyes one universal religion under One God.

There is only one God but when sin entered the world people tried to find their own religion. Different religions were not created by God. They were created by Satan and his tricking people into new religions.

Because.... thousands and millions of years ago when the earth had not separated into countries and islands. People began , but as this first group of people got bigger and families grew, they separated and different groups explored different part of the world. To be able to tell the difference between groups they formed languages. The earth shifted and the population grew. They had already formed a new language and had then formed their own ways and beliefs.....hence it is the same god but believed in different ways!

Depends first on the country you lived and secondly on whom people decided to follow, some followed Jesus Christ, Some Buddha, Mohammad ect. or if you listened to Ron Hubbard you believe in Scientology. In other words you listen to some peoples views about a religion and decide if you wish to follow it and preach and pass on the word. People will believe what they feel is closest to their believes.
