Peppermint tea just takes getting used to it, try it for a week without sweeteners and you'll probably never go back. If you are avoiding sugar in what you eat, then within a few weeks you won't be abled to eat or drink stuff that is sweetened - it'll taste too sweet!

All those mentioned before, with the exception of artificial sweetners are sugars. Maltose, gucose, fructose, maltotriose etc, all sugar.

Either get used to peppermint tea on its own, or switch to something containing licorice which is naturally sweet. Yogi tea make a range of spice teas which are pretty nice. I like the detox tea, it nice and spicy, but the licorice in it sweetneds it a little. These teas are available in most health food shops.

Use Stevia, as "patriotnu" has suggested. I use it for most things that need sweetening, like coffee, lemonade, etc. It's very, very concentrated, so use just a drop at first. It comes in a bottle with a dropper. It comes from the Stevia plant, and it's natural. You can buy it at almost any health food store or at places where you order vitamins by mail. Hope this helps..
