What do you think of this religious war ?

This current situation was started to supposedly end terrorism, well, that was one of the reasons given, we don't exactly know why. It is certain now that we are going into Iran soon, where will it all end ? If you are interested I would like to start a campaign against these wars on the internet. I need genuine people to say what they are feeling and to oppose any further wars erupting anywhere else.More weapons are needed in Iraq and Afghanistan what are we going to give our men to fight with ? I still believe in power to the people and if enough of us get together for peace we can and will do something positive for this beautiful world of ours. As I said earlier I do not want any stupid replies only genuine people with genuine intentions need reply..............

I am neither naive or need to gtow up I am already a gran, with probably more experience of life than you Danny999. You seem to like my questions maybe that's because you can feel superior to others who gave the kind of answers I was looking - genuine ones

It always amuses me when I read about the great US and UK 'democracies' and how fair they are. When in actual fact if you are poor democracy doesn't exist and it is the impoverished in both these nations who are out on the front lines losing their lives so as our citizens who are well off can support their democracies.Money talks dear and I am not so stupid that I don't realise this.Who makes profit from war ?All I want is peace for everyone not just my family. There is an answer to all conflict I just want it found............

I want to thank everyone for the replies they sent me and I will be in touch with all of you soon. The genuine answers gave me heart in condemning this current conflict. We know in our hearts that this war is about money not religion, but if we all sit back and do nothing how can we live with ourselves ? I want the world to join together against war and the internet is my only hope. Rallies are great for the feeling of oneness for those taking part, but we can keep a longer campaign going here and one which anyone no matter their colour or creed can participate in. I agree with you. The excuse for going into Afghanistan was to find Osama Bin laden. when they didn't find him, they diverted a load of troops to Iraq - I am not sure anyone knows why. Now we have toppled the regime of dictactorship, we are still there!!!!! Now we are going to Iran. Why the hell is this happening? Our troops are stretched to the limit. What happens if North Korea DO launch a nuclear missile at UK? Who is going to be here to protect the nation? Nobody coz they will all be in the Middle East! I am not sure what we are doing there, but we need to leave George W Bush to his own devices. This will not end until either all our troops have been maimed or slaughtered, or all their troops are. Either way - it is not a good thing.

Most wars are fought over religion. Weird that isn't it? The one thing that is supposed to bring peace, harmony and solidity to one's life can be argued over with suicide bombers, terrorists, WMD's, and thousands of troops and guns.

I hope you will consider this a thoughtful and genuinely well meant answer to your question, even though I do oppose what you are proposing.

The Muslims states of the world, to one extent or another believe in the Koran. Muslims are directed to destroy all infidels. ALL non-Muslims are considered infidels by the more orthodox (radical) of the Muslim clerics who are in charge of countries like Iran.
Fundamentalist Muslims in particular want to see the end of Israel as a nation (if you aren't aware of this, study the history of this area. Many of the hardliner Muslim countries PUBLICLY say that Israel should NOT exist as a nation.

All Muslim States, and most of the radical Muslims HATE the USA, hate whoever is in charge of the USA at the time (Clinton was hated as well, you know), and true to their faith would like to see the country and its peoples destroyed, and they have proven that it doesn't make any difference if they take out some Muslims in their attempts.

OK, North Korea today said it DOES have the means to deliver a missle with a warhead, and it will shoot one off to prove it. Iran is developing, or has developed the means to make nuclear weapons, Iraq was within a few years of having it, if not sooner.
North Korea is a VERY poor country, and would get LOTS of money from Iran Syria, etc., to supply the necessary material to blow up Israel, all or in part. THINK of the consequences.
Korea CAN and may have already sold the material needed to make a nuclear weapon that could be CARRIED into the USA and this, one or more, could be placed ANYWHERE in cities.

We, the USA, The Allied powers, the free democracies of the world, could give up today and stop fighting. Stop fighting like our ancestors did for the Magna Carta, for the Indepence of America and France, for the causes of the Civil War , WWI, WWII. Is that what you want as YOUR personal legacy if YOU organized this and it became a fact. A legacy that it is better to let them have what they want, and when they have enough power to take what we have....what do you propose then?

You say you aren't even sure why we are at war, so how can you then say they should be stopped?

The situation is far to complex for your simplistic view.

Here are a few things to think about through.
Do you want a country like North Korea to have a nuclear weapon? Forget what the west thinks, why do you think their nieghbours are so concerned?

Do you want Iran to have a Nuclear weapon? A country who's leaded said he would like to see Israel destroyed.

Hitler was appeased for years before we finally stood up to him. If we'd step in as soon as he'd strted breaking the rules we could have crushed him in months or even weeks.

Do you honestly belive that if we stopped fighting these people they would stop trying to attack us? These are people who are willing to die for their cause. They are willing to kill anyone, women children, innocent civilians quite simply because they think we are all guilty. Look at what is happening in Iraq. Suicide bombers attack funeral parties, weddings, schools tec. These people do not have the same moral values as us and they certainly would have no problem in chopping your head off.


Oh and for the last answerer, Iraq was years away from a nuclear bomb. North Korea may have exploded a nuclear device but that doesn't mean they have the technology to make a warhead for one of their missiles. We've already seen that the long range ones don't work anyway. I'm not a muslim fanatic and i don't think Israel has a right to be there, although I do accept that it is there and the region has to accept that now.

Howard Baker and other old, moderate Republicans are having some influence now, and may have a plan to end the US involvement in Iraq. If these level heads continue to exert an influence, and if more Democrats are elected to the House and Senate in November, the US may begin substituting diplomacy for military action.

You're missing the point if you don't know why we're at war. The terrorists have one plan: to kill all the people in the world who are not Muslims. It's that simple. Now personally I would like to live. I want my family to live. I want America to continue to be free and its citizens safe from more terrorist attacks.
