they are very smart and loving dogs they are also very very high energy dogs. very stubborn dog. they hate to be left alone and will chew on every thing .they are hard to house break and can be very vocal. they need to be socialized from a puppy or they well not get along with other people or animals. but if you have the time to spend with a j.r.t. you have one of the best of all the breeds.they are also one of the most comical dogs there is o i almost for got. jrt are diggers they can and will dig out of any fence or kennel you put them in.they need to be kept in doors and leashed when walking

I have a 9 month old Jack Russell, she doesn't bark very much at all. I think they are the best breed of dog.
she has a lot of energy, very intelligent and loving. She learns tricks very quickly...and she's protective, loyal, and playful
Jack Russells will rid your house and yard of any mice or even snakes and alert you to any visitors before they get to the door.
I don't think Jack Russells know how small they are, they must think they are much larger than they are....my girl tickles me to death sleeping on her back with her head on my pillow like a tiny little person.

The best thing you can do if you get this type of dog, it to get another one! Jack Russell’s do need a lot of attention and have A LOT of energy, but if you have another one it makes it so much easer. NOTE: If you do get two get a male and a female, don’t get the same sex they tend to not get a long very well. My parents-in-law have a male and a female and my grandma has a female. They are GREAT dogs and are always very alert.

Gtreat little dogs! Very happy and playful with a whole lot of grit, love people and will kill any rat or mouse around, or snake. They do tend to bark alot and will tackle anything, no matter the size. They love to go for walks, I have 8 dogs from Great Danes to a chih. & my JRT is the wildest, she can make my Danes leave the food bowl.

My friend has a Jack Russell.. It's extremely loud when it barks, it has this high pitched squeak.
They're very active, hyper in other words. Can get a bit nervous around people. They are small dogs so keep it warm at all times.
Don't wash too much because they do develop skin problems.
They're great pets if you like small dogs, and not chihuahuas.

They can leap extremely high, they are hyperactive and their bark is like a high yip and they use it frequently. Our next door neighbor has one.
