Well not necessarily. Actually love dies gradually. So it may be sweeter for the third or more time around.

yeh i think it is because in a way you think of your ex and what they'd be thinking about the situation, like are they jealous that you've moved on. also i think because you've matured since the first time you already know the deal and things happen faster. 2nd love > 1st love
