Why does America like to scare itself?

Every couple of years you all come up with another way to scare yourselfs.

I'm guessing you mean that a few years ago "WE" came up with 911 just to get a good scare.

Or are you talking about the time "WE" made up the little story about Iran and North Korea testing and having weapons grade uranium and weapon of mass distruction testing.

I don't know why we do stuff like that. I guess its better than the monsters in the closet and under the bed?

Most intelligent Americans, read Democrats, don't. The whole republican agenda is to keep Americans afraid and scared of the rest of the world, to keep their hold on power. They want the American people to think only a Republican administration will protect them. This election you will see that the majority of americans are no longer buying into that propaganda. The Democrates will pevail and America will go on to be a better, stronger nation while working with the rest of the world rather than being afraid of it.

america created a legend (superpower) at the cold war
to go on the legend you should draw attention
if your economy and politics are defined by interest groups-arms companies-lobbies you should feed them
you can only feed them with BLOOD
now there is no superpower but many economic powers, america is not capable of controlling everywhere as during and after the cold war
so america like and should do scare itself
for economic interests
blood is needed for money

You are making the assumption that it is self imposed. There are plenty of scary things out there every day in the world. Do you think we should just put our heads in the sand and ignore issues when they come up. I , quite frankly do not wish to run away from issues. You deal with them when they arise. These issues are just highlighted every couple of years due to our elections. The facts are we deal with several issues every day in this country .

Sometimes, or most times it takes a tradgety to get back to your senses. Consider this> it takes fatel car crash to finally, for the government to install traffic lights. And also> what about the neighbour next door you have not talked to for years, ex> fire in the street will get you talking again?
