I have bone cancer and can not work anymore. Is there any help out there?

I live in Nevada and there are no doctors here that will touch me because of a cancerous tumor that is located on the bone of my left arm. My boss constantly harassed me and provided me with no assistance or back up. I am a finish carpenter and worked at a small community hospital. I was soley responsible for projects that endangered me of further injurying my left arm. Finally my arm was injured and I am no longer able to work. I am the sole provider for my two children and I have no family. I have been to UCLA when my first tumor was removed and was overall unhappy with the quality of care I received. I have no money or options for work. My children are the most important people in my life and I need help. I don't even know where to start in order to get assistance and my bills are mounting. Is there anybody that can help us?

That's a sad story. But not hopeless.

If you can get hold of welfare, do it asap. There should be some kind of plan for someone in your condition - ask around until you find it. There are also charities and foundations which help needy patients - look for them and ask for help.

This is just a personal opinion, but I think the conventional treatment of most hospitals (surgery, chemotherapy, radiation) are too severe for the body to withstand and they actually weaken us and make things worse.

I do believe cancer can be cured. There is plenty of medically-verified documentation on people who have been cured by alternative or natural therapies.

Wow sweetie my heart is in my throat right now, First things first like everyone else said,Call your local family social services. You sound as if you definately have a claim, you said you were injured at work BOY!!! I sure hope you are on workman's comp. If not get in touch with the labor board, they must pay while you are out of work, even if you had a pre-exsiting condition,I sure you told them correct....Don,t worry if you didn't you are still entitled to comp,food stamps, GO immediately to ss office and get forms for SSI and Disability,and Medicaid for you and your family.Make an APPT with an ATTT who specializes in ss disability and they will help you file you only pay a minimal fee for them getting Dr. reports,correspond, etc.They take a one time fee of your lump settlement, I forgot I think I paid 20%. they will take care of disabiity but be patient mine took two years but it was worth it/also if not on workman's comp[which you should be] then you can file for unemployment if you have worked with them I think one year.I know this is a lot to digest,it was for me tooo. so call dept of family and social services/or go down and wait they will give you food stamps within three days/then go to social security office to apply for medicaid and or SSI,at the same time get papers from them for disability. Hi Mike, I am very sorry for your situation. I cannot imagine what you are going through.

You need to go to your local "welfare" office, i dont knwo what it is called there, here is is social services. And get yourself some assistance $$, and medicaid! With medicaid you can get the treatment you need.

I know you are not happy with the care you got, but you have to go where they can help you for now, or the cancer will spread!

You CAN fight and win, but you have to get your butt in to a hosp and get treatment.. Your kids need their daddy!

Social services will help you with money, food and health care for you and your kids.. Use it until you do not need it anymore.. But that is what it is there for!

I'm in Michigan. State of Michigan department of human resources, I would hope you have one in your state too.

They have emergency help, and on going help, with rent, food,
medical for you and the kids etc.

You will be assigned a case-worker and all will start to roll.
You will probably need your bank statements etc.

Start as soon as possible.

file for state disability....you can get information about applying at you employment office...or call social security and talk to some one there you might quality for assistance both state and federal.....your state rehabilitation agency can also assist you or guide you how to get help
