Nope. I rarely had PMS, and every single one of my pregnancies was different. I was horribly sick with my first, and my last (oh yeah, these twins are probably my last), but not sick with the others. There's no rhyme or reason really to why some women get morning sickness & others don't - or why even one woman doesn't have the same pregnancy every time.
But, I just call it life. If life was the same every day, it would be horribly boring. Each pregnancy has been like a new story, as each child is also. And for the branches of my tree, there are beautiful leaves of life. And no two are the same.

Premenstrual pain and pain during pregnancy are 2 different things. They are not connected to each other

The most important thing to remember is that EVERY pregnancy can be different.
People will tell you that " this is how it will be" because that's how it was for them - but that usually won't be the case for you or someone else, because everyone is different.
I can tell you that I experience nasty prementrual pain, but I wasn't sick or in pain during either of my 2 pregnancies. But please remember, this doesn't mean that all people who have prementrual pain will NOT be in pain or be sick during pregancy, this is only my own personal experience.
The next person may suffer during pregnancy when she didn't suffer with periods.
Don't listen to dictators!!! - just go with the flow. If you do find you are suffering, visit your doctor who may be able to help you through the pregancy a little easier.
Good luck!

hi. i get bad pmt and pain before and during my periods, i found when i was pregnant i didnt have pain at all, and normal morning sickness for the first four months, but i still got the pmt mood swings!
pregnancy can be a cure for women who have endometriosis, and go through hell every month, so you may find your periods calm down after you have your baby, but will be very heavy straight afterwards and for a couple of months.
i tried the contraceptive injection, and found that after the first month, my periods disappeared all together. it was great, but i put on half a stone for each 3mth cycle that i had, so only had it 3 times.
i cant say for sure that you wont have bad sickness in your pregnancy as every woman and every pregnancy is different. it all depends on your hormone levels in that pregnancy.
if you have any pain that is regular and cramping suring pregancy, or experience any spotting you should call your doctor or midwife and take their advice.
pregancy was a great time for me, i loved being pain and period free, ( apart from the first 4 months of morning sickness), and i loved it so much, i did it 7 times, and am mum to 8 kids now. and back to being in pain with heavy periods again, i am now considering having the contraceptive injection again, despite any weight gain i may experience.
good luck for the future x

No, not necessarily. I used to have premenstrual pain but I had two great pregnancies. I loved being pregnant. My periods were ghastly after childbirth though. Menopause does have its compensations.

No. I always suffered until I gave birth, then no more period pain. It was only as I got towards 50 that I again started to have cramps etc. Sometimes you can have a sick labour, and they always say no two pregnancies are the same.

Thank you for asking this! My mom always had horrible menstrual cramps and then was nauseous for nearly 9 months with both of her pregnancies. I usually have no PMS or menstrual symptoms. Will I be nausea-free when pregnant, I wonder?
