The "exe file" must have been deleted by my anti virus, however, during startup an error message always appears --windows cannot locate eksplorasi.exe. What does it imply and how else do I undo it?
I've already tried the following:
1. Click on Start
2. Click on Run
3. Type MSCONFIG
4. Click on the startup tab (its all the way to the right)
5. Find the item in the list that refers to eksplorasi.exe and uncheck it.
6. Click apply and ok.

This didnt work because the "explorasi.exe" or "worm_rontokbro" isnt even in the list. However, I did see a row that had no start-up item stated...but it did have "HLKM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run" against it' empty "start-up" item.
This is what confuses me.

I can tell you how to manually get rid of the worm that you have, but that depends on if your competent and using the registry...

try using this automatic removal program from trendmicro antivirus first...

http://www.trendmicro.com/download/dcs.asp download page

http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/tsc/sysclean.com direct link to program

If you are competent then open REGEDIT...then go to this..always remember to backup your registry first!!

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>
Windows NT>CurrentVersion>Winlogon

In the right panel, locate the following entry:

* On Windows ME, 2000, XP, and Server 2003
Shell = "Explorer.exe "%Windows%\Eksplorasi.exe""
* On Windows NT
Shell = "Explorer.exe "\eksplorasi.exe""

Right-click on this registry entry and choose Modify. Change the value to this

Shell = "Explorer.exe"

Best of luck!! Any problems then message me!!

AHA !! That empty entry might be the program you're searching for.

Usually these programs hide in remote corners of the System Registry. That's why we are afraid of removing these items.
It's obvious that a software developed by a reputed company doesn't leave an un-named startup item in your machine.

So follow these steps.

1. Uncheck that item and restart. this may solve the problem.

2. If not download Avast! Home Edition (Which is a very powerful antivirus solution and the best thing is it's free).

Avast Home Edition is here:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

3. Download the latest update and install it.

Latest update is here:
http://www.avast.com/eng/update_avast_4_vps.html

4. Do a full system scan ad you are out of trouble.

Good Luck !!!
