SOUNDS FAIR TO ME !!!

2006-10-11 10:03:02 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 2

No it isn't fair game.
The difference is that the burka and concealing a woman's flesh is part of a religious belief, the only religion you are following is fashion fair enough, you have the freedom of expressing yourself by wearing what you want to (or at least what the IT girls models A list celebrity's and media tell you to wear but that's another point entirely) and the Muslim belief limits what its followers wear but at the same time we all know that religion is the original form of law and therefore a form of control.
You wearing a bikini in the middle east and a middle eastern girl ( i presume you are a girl lol) wearing a burka in the us of a are two completely different things. NOT FAIR GAME!

well if u are going to wear something like a very nice party gown, with a bit free flowing -- then i am sure u will be getting more respect. have u ever been to church? why not take Virgin Mother Mary your role model? why not be like her? ever thought about it?.

also if u are going to dress in a way which is provocative to others -- then remember ur children are being given a wrong message. and if you will dress in a way that would attract others -- i think the first people to oppose will be your very own family.

oh have u seen some of their women .... and their wedding gowns. they are more expensive than you can imagine and very beautiful too. also if you are among girls, then you can be really cool.

Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.
- Oscar Wilde

The clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.

if a burka is a head cover then it is not criticized by all. Some people may be ignorant and not appreciate the differences that are good in the world. I have seen many beautiful head covers and full dresses. There is nothing wrong with it.

No. Because at that point you are showing disrespect for their customs and accepted sense of morality.

If I walked naked through your neighborhood in front of your children would I then have the right to complain if you criticized me for my actions? In some middle-eastern countries, "Dressing Sexy" is seen in this very same light.

you wear a burka in America, you might receive a few rotten eggs. You should dress for the place you are, not where you came from.

No. Be the better person. It's not about revenge. We all need to learn from the Amish who this week have showed amazing feats of forgiveness for the killer of their children, and they even attended his funeral. We need to stop the petty fighting. It gets us nowhere. Life isn't about who said the nastiest thing to who,and keeping score. We need to all get along. We need to share this earth. Stop with the pettiness. Learn to find love and compassion and forgiveness for others shortcomings. If everyone did this then the world would not be at war today.
