So there is this guy I like, who's my friend, he's 10+ years older than me. We've gone out a couple of times and have had long conversations that lasted for hours about everything from our deepest secrets to relationships. He's given me signs that made it seems like he likes me, for instance, the way he smiles at me then kinda looks away, the teasing, things like that. Anyway, we laugh and joke around with each other all the time. There were times when he would find excuses to touch me, like my hand or my back. It kinda surprised me because I saw him as a very shy, and kept to himself type person.

Now the weird thing is, we have friends who are between my age and his age. Whenever we are around the people closer to his age, he tends to shy off and we don't really talk, but when it's people closer to my age, we act how we do when we're alone. I don't get him. He's told me that the youngest he would date is 25, but his actions speak differently.

Please, I'm in need of advice. Thx

I think shy is really fear of rejection, tell him how you think he is feeling and tell him how you feel.

Honesty and openness are good place to start and talk about what you both would like from a relationship, it could be you are not on the same wavelength OR you could be soul mates (however you define it).

Age is not a barrier the only barrier are your fears.

It could be he is afraid of the reaction of the older people, society seems to frown upon large age differences in couples.

he could be "embarrassed" to show his feelings in front of his own age group.

sometimes men get called "dirty old men" for flirting or showing interest in younger women.

you're gonna have to just ask him, "Why haven't you ever asked me out- are you afraid I'd say yes?"

don't be shy, you only live ONCE- make it count!
