I sat down in the chair I'm in right now because I believed it would support my weight. I could've stood there beside the chair and said that I believed it would support me, but until I actually sat in the chair, I might've been saying I believed it would support me, but until I put into action what I said I believed about this chair, it didn't matter that I believed it. Likewise, a lot of people say they have faith that Jesus is the Son of God, but unless they choose to know Him personally and to base their lives upon Him and trust that He would forgive their sins and that He would give them strength to live for Him, their belief would be just empty knowledge until they tested what they said they believed. Christians have faith in Jesus because we trust Him, not just because we believe a bunch of facts about Him.

Faith is NOT following what your preacher says whether you feel it is right or wrong.
Faith is belief without seeing. without scientific or man-made proof. No video, no picture, but still believing. Atheists are incapable of this. Most scientists as well. Man thinks he can prove everything. The problem is, when you deal with the Creator, our miniscule minds cannot comprehend a speck of what He knows, and some people can't handle that.
Isaiah 55:8-9
8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Now for those that just go through the motions and say and do what a preacher or anyone else says and you don't believe, then you will be one of the ones in this example:
Matthew 7:21-23
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Just saying the words and getting Baptized will never save you. You HAVE to believe, and that takes faith.
