What is the atitude of people in S. Korea regarding North Korea? Do they want them to be free, or do they just hope that they will leave them alone. I understand that many families are divided, do they communicate? please give us some insight into this matter.

I was stationed in Korea from May 05 - May 06. The impression I got from the Republic of Korea is that they just want N Korea to stay on there side and leave them alone. People in S Korea have a much better/normal life then the ones in N Korea. Here is a picture of N and S Korea. The reason S Korea has all the white spots is because this is a night pic taken and those are lights. If you look at N Korea they have nothing. The only ones that get basic things such as running water or electricity are the ones that work directly for Kim.

I dont know why anyone would want to live in N Korea cause it has turned into a third world country and the citizens have basically been turned into robots. I guess everyone has diffrent beliefs though..

Korea is divided by North Korea which was controlled by the communist USSR with its allies and South Korea by U.S. and other democratic countries. The Korean war was a proxy war between U.S and Russia. The boundary between both are countries is called the 38th parallel. Their situation was similar to that of East Germany and West Germany before their unification. The people were separated by ideology. The only difference is that North Korea was ruled by tyrants.

Not knowing how to speak their language we couldn't communicate. We were there to help them from Communism taking over another country. Just look how their country of South Korea has progressed through the years since they received our assistance and North Korea has gone to hell.

North Korea is aggressive in fact it attacked South Korea for annexation but was repelled when Americans and its allies supported South Korea.
