I take something to calm me down so I am relaxed.I fight if they try to put mask over my face so they have to wait till I'm out before they can do it.I find I am asleep very quickly no counting.

I LOVE the going to sleep part - every time I try to fight it so I can enjoy it more but never succeed LOL Im always asleep before I know it and then waking up - depending on the surgery your having you might also have a sore throat for a few minutes from where the tube was put down your throat but I have had many anaesthetics and I have to say I love the feeling of going to sleep its so peaceful.

Really good. They give you a little something to take the edge off. So just before they knock you out they tell you to think your happy thought. And before the mask touches your face you're out. When you wake up it's like you've been asleep about 5 minutes.

I had an operation quite recently and it's not that bad.
They ask you loads of questions about allergies and medical history etc. it takes ages! if there are going to be any problems they'll know, and you won't go in so there's nothing to worry about.
they put a small needle in the outside of your hand and you feel it traveling up your arm a bit, it's really cold. Someone else will hold an oxygen mask over you face and say "sorry, this will smell funny, but it's just the smell of old plastic!"
The next thing you know you're opening your eyes somewhere else! and in my case, i wasn't wearing the same thing i went in wearing! lol but thats another story!

Anaesthesia is of 2 type : 1)General Anaesthasia- Entire body is anaesthetised. 2)Local Anaesthesia- Only Desired part will be anaesthetised...
In genera anaesthesia U falls in deep sleep but U can having some feeling like sound.. U may feel like a dream... but U R not able 2 perceive pain.. U R in Rapid Eye Movement sleep..
In Local anasthesia, U R well concious, but U wont be able 2 move UR anaesthetises body part, U cant perceive pain but U can feel pressure in that area... U R concious abvt everything else...

I was told by a friend who worked in the operating theatre where my hip and leg were being cut open that when the main anaesthetic went in I got what he described as a 'huge erection' whereupon the female orthopaedic surgeon blushed madly (you'd think she'd seen one before), threw a towel on it and left the theatre. This caused great amusement and I received personal thanks from more than one of the theatre staff as she was a bit of a cow...apparently.

I remember falling asleep pretty quick. Its weird. And upon waking up it feels horrible...confused and all drugged. I hate the last part of the surgery.

You slowly go to sleep.
Some people though do say some strange things according to some of my doctor and dentist friends. Usually the women say
"I Love you" to the dentist.

You don't react, you just drift off to sleep.
