From the local's point of view, the best place should be
Ya Wang. ( literally interpret as "Duck King"), which probably should be the most expensive place for peking duck. "Quan Ju De "is the oldest and most famous one in China now.

Go to "Silk market" for shopping, but pls remember the way of bargaining price.. not only double maybe triple ..and even more.. but the most important thing, U like it or at least you think it worth what you pay...

best place of peking duck meal: Quan Ju De

Do u really get enough time to bargain? I suggest you to go to a big shopping mall where u can't bargain with. You can save time and will not regret with the fixed price.

silk market is good for shopping...but you must bargain. as a rule, don't be scared to argue over the price...and remember that they AT LEAST double the prices...usually even more than double. I purchased a jacket from there once, and was quoted a price of 800 RMB, in the end I left with the jacket for 120 RMB & I'm sure I could've gone lower. Once you get into it, it can be a ton of fun.
