Christianity is a faith based on a single event...the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Its sotieriology is based on identification with, and faith in, the substitutional sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the rebellion of man began by Adam and Eve as accounted in the book of Genesis.

Christians believe in a trinitarian theological structure; God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit. However, this is not polytheism, as each of these personages contain the same substance, and are thus one God. This is communicated in multiple passages of the Bible, but the last chapter of Matthew clearly teaches this in one location.
