Note: I have read books I really like in paper form and net form, and the above applies.

You don't. She doesn't.
Your reading rate is your reading rate. If you think of books as "work" and the Internet as "free reading," you'll probably sit and stare at the book page unproductively for moments, wishing you were done, while, when reading the Internet, you feel more free to just skip over stuff. But when you're reading -- actually reading -- you're pretty much taking in words at the same rate in both environments.
(Your wife, if I had to guess, is used to reading things carefully. In an Internet environment where nearly every other word is hyperlinked, it's easy for a compulsive reader to get sucked in and take forever. But when she's doing that, she's probably reading more stuff than you are.)

it extremely relies upon on precisely what you're examining and the form you comprehend what you examine. Say you're examining a mag on a thank you to genuine colour your lips. that may not make you clever interior the sector of chemistry. And once you're examining a e book on enhanced physics that could take a scientist to comprehend it is extremely not likely that it will help the common individual's intelligence. i could say examine each and every thing. There are issues on line which you will not discover in books, yet triple examine the information in the previous you think something from the internet. examine a great number of books, yet do not initiate out with extremely difficult and boring books. i've got examine a lot of great technological expertise and background books that have been humorous, exciting, and insightful. As for magazines they are frequently rapid reads and you will not get the education as properly from them. Books are the superb in my view.

Do you move the mouse over the word as you read? Maybe you're guiding your eyes if you do.
Otherwise, it's probably just the way your sitting at the computer is more comfortable for you than in a chair with a book.
Also maybe the subject matter. Have you tried reading the same material in both forms?

Most likely because the Internet makes things interesting. It is interactive, you are in control of things. As opposed to a book...its just pages upon pages of endless words...not seeminly interesting.

Why would you memorize your favorite artists, soccer players, their boring history perhaps more than you remember the presidents of your country, or the history of it, or even perhaps the history of your own family?
Interest! You love the internet, hate books most likely :)
