Has this got anything to do with consuming alcohol?I am not an alcoholic,as I am onlyma social drinker.I used to be very active in sports,but had laid off for a couple of years.Generally,I don't succumb to illness easily

Sciatic Pain is the likely explanation, coming from the sciatic nerves. They descend from the spine, through the buttocks, and down the 2 legs. Origin of condition is uncertain, but possibly sports related, or uncomfortable positions held for long periods.
Massage and warm baths are helpful. B vitamins are useful for calming the nerves.

i have that same problem with my left pinkie its totally numb,anyway i like to bite it because the pain its not to big and its manageable and fun but it might be a serious problem so i should go check it.

if your numbness has gone away maybe it was a pinched nerve, but should come back, please see a Dr. perferably a neurologist. my husband had numbness in his thigh, saw his pcp, then neurologist, but found nothing, it wasn't until he had another symptom that sent him to the hospital where Multiple Sclerosis was found. Don't ignore it.
