Go to a hair dresser and they will strip the color. I had to have it done when i dyed my hair and the color didn't turn out right and i had it fixed right away.

as Jessey says, there is a decolourant you can buy over the counter, it totally strips the hair of any colour. It is also quite damaging so I recommend just buying a toner (you know the temp ones) that will not make your hair green or anything but I highly doubt it will change as the colour you currently have is so dark. If you can afford to go to a hairdresser do so as they know exactly what they are doing but otherwise all I can suggest is to get the decolourant, you can apply another colour immediately but do buy a good conditioner to try & undo the damage that will occur. If this isnt appealing then the only thing that will make it fade faster is really cheap shampoo!!!
Oh dear me, good luck :o)

There is a decolorant, but to be honest as long as you use a dye for a really short while over the top you should be able to redye it as long as you condition properly and only use for a short time. If you can keep it shiny and get out in the fresh air too as we know what a fading effect that has.

Depends on your hair really (never heard of the semen approach though, and I wouldn't suggest that one!! lol). A colourist should be able to do it no problems if you are willing to pay for it.

I would suggest going to a professional colourist right away. Ask them to put some highlights through the top half of your hair to lighten it up without putting too much stress on recently coloured hair. This will make a huge difference & it will also make you feel like you again. :-)

Shampoo with Dish Detergent, yeah sounds crazy but It'll fade out the black alot faster and you'll probably get a dark brown in the end. Might take some time, but it sure beats bleaching your hair.....which is pretty much the ONLY way to get rid of black dye. Another option would be a color stripper, but if you used boxed color, strippers won't work.

i don't think you would be able to put caramel highlights back in your hair if its nearly black, ive got the same problem my hairs black and i want it lighter. The only thing to do is get it stripped back to your natural colour, but this involves bleach and it can damage your hair if its naturally thin or if it has been coloured lots of times.

There is a product in Australia that you can buy that actually strips the colouring, Im not sure if it damages your hair and I forget what it is called but basically it 'washes' out the colour

Try using Head & Shoulders anti-dandruff shampoo. It fades the colour faster

just keep washing it more than usual and it will fade and probably go back to the colour you had it!....im always doin theese sort of mistakes when i dye my hair...i have it blonde but ive had occasions when its turned out ginger and green highlights! lol....not funny at the time tho as makes you not dare to leave the house!....your best bet is to stick with one particular dye....thats what i do now to avoid any unwanted clours!...hope this helps

Quit worrying.

It's just hair. See if you can make it work. Consider it a personal challenge to overcome and learn from. Or cut it off, or take the easy way out and have a pro strip the color. You're mom is not helping either. She should never be that negative to her kids, she should be the one saying "It's only hair, it can be fixed." She should not be encouraging vanity.
