Yes fleas live in Vegas. I found an article about diseased fleas that were attacking cats there in 2001.

Two feral cats tested positive for the plague on Mount Charleston, possibly exposing humans to the disease in the past several weeks.

Cases of human plague, a disease curable with antibiotics, are rare.

Clark County Health District officials, however, are warning visitors and residents of the area to avoid contact with wild animals and to wear insect repellent when going outdoors.

Owners should protect pets by using flea collars and keeping pets away from rodents or sick or dead animals.

The plague is a bacterial illness transmitted through the bite of an infected flea, contact with an infected animal or inhalation of respiratory droplets from an infected animal.

Symptoms include swollen glands, fever, chills, headache and exhaustion.

No human plague cases have been documented in Clark County, health district officials said.

Five cases of human plague have been reported in rural areas of Nevada since 1978, with the most recent case in 1992. Two of the five infected people died.

Cases of animal plague are not unusual. Four foxes and one coyote tested positive for the disease in the Mount Charleston area last year.

For more information about the plague, contact the health district at 383-1251.

Me and the wife have both lived here since 1960. We have always had dogs in our lives, We have never seen or heard of dogs having fleas here. Used to see a occasional tick or two in the 60's. I believe the climate is not favorable for either.

Go to any of the major or minor csinos and you will see tons of fleabags. So fleas must exist in Las Vegas.

Seriously, of course they do, as long as they have hosts to live off of.

Yes they do-if conditions are not favorable(too hot/dry) the eggs can stay dormant for years, but a bit of moisture and a cool spell and they will hatch.
