The label is the only difference I've found. As for the different cut of the pants that would mean my daughter could fit into 2T (she still wears a pull up) but 24 mo would be too tight. No instead 18 mos too short and 24 mos and 2T are both too big. I have held up the same pants by the same company at the store and found absolutely no difference. I've done it for boys and girls clothes. Dresses, pants, shirts. All of it. It makes sense that 2 T and 24 mos is the same size. After all how old are you when you are 2? 24 mos.

In general terms, 2T is for toddler, so these pants are cut for a child who is walking, so the leg is usually longer and slightly slimmer. With 24months, this size indicates that the child is in crawling and shuffling ,mode, and therefore needs a wider pants leg, and more width across the bottom area for diapers. also, the waist line is wider on 24 months, as a 2T is smaller, because the child is presumably walking and slimmer. Hope this helps.

24 months are usually elastic waisted, and will have the snaps in the pant crotch. They also are a little chubbier in the waist, and shorter legged. 2T's are not usually snapped in the crotch. If they do have elastic in the waistbands, they're partial elastic. They do tend to be longer legged. My children who were chubbier always wore 24 mos longer, and then went straight to 2T. My children who were taller and thinner, went from an 18 mos to a 2T. I don't really see a huge difference between the two sizes, because this can differ between each manufacturer also.

The 24-months are designed to accommodate a diaper and are not cut as narrow as 2T is.
