I think animal testing is cruel and inhumane. I hope there is a special place in hades for the people who do animal testing.
There are other ways. But its easy to do it to animals because they can't speak up for themselves.

I agree with Yobaby. We're talking about Medical Breakthroughs not Cosmetic Purposes right?? What if there were a cure for Cancer or AIDS, that one of your family members suffered from? Would you still want to protect the rat(or whatever animal) that could be used to test a cure? Do you think finding & testing a cure for Cancer, AIDS, or even maybe Alzheimers on an animal is a desire?? You make it sound like people are doing such tests for kicks & giggles not to save lives. You're the whacko! You & housesoftheholy need to get a grip on reality, or are you too busy trying to figure out how to put on your big girl panties???

turn it down. No volume of money is nicely worth it. i won't think of listening to the cries of injured animals and seeing purposfully inflicted wounds. i think of if a doubt exists a pair of chemical or a product being volatile for any being it has no business enterprise being in any product i could use...which encompasses a drugs. I additionally think of each and every physique is decrease than the effect that the finding out centers do such mundane issues as putting creams and products on an animal and anticipate a reaction. it is lots extra severe than that. they often purposfully reason scientific circumstances like gum ailment, and spray chemical ingredients in there mouths. They spray issues in there eyes, starve them and get rid of the pores and skin and the exterior of there pores and skin and prepare chemical ingredients. I think of the soreness an animal feels isn't any diverse from an toddler. pass to the PETA internet site, and see some video's. See in case you're able to do what they are doing.. it is poor.

I love em..I love the little furry things with all my heart. They are adorable, helpless, little things ( and big things) but the nature of things is what it is,
You are sitting there healthy as you can be typing that question, because the vaccines that you recieved as a child prevented you from getting certain illnesses. Those vaccines were tested over and over again on animals. Cruel? Perhaps. Im sure that the scientist (most) dont want to hurt the poor things. But animals have been being tested on since the beginning of time. Humans also use themselves as ginnie pigs. I would like to ask you, without being synical, would you have rather died as a child from polio or small pox or menegitis or any of those things, and are you prepared to die in the future from avian flu, or hiv, or cancer, or heart disease, or any of those things..so that these animals may live. I f that is the case, then I applaud you for your convictions. But if you have ever taken cold medicine, gotten a flu shot, a vaccine ( since your have been an adult), even if you have ever used beauty products to improve yourself..then maybe you shouldn't be so quick...
its ok to care, but care sensibly and realisticly and dont be so quick to throw stones. Some of the scientist working on animals are very compassionite towards another species and are doing there best to improve the lives of that species. Some of those scientist convictions are as strong as yours.

Well, call me a whacko! What are you 5 years old?? You honestly cannot differentiate between the value of a human life & that of an animal? If I found out that one of my kids was dying & the only cure could be found from a medication that needed to be tested on an ANIMAL , I'd start lining them up!! There is a big difference between an animal who does not have friends and family watching them disentegrate before their eyes. Animals don't have paying jobs, children & other family members who will be scarred from their loss. Humans have all that and more. How many animals have come up with cures for ANY diseases? Pull your head out of your @$$, put your big girl panties on & join us here in reality.

Hey, I am absolutely with you. It has been said many times before, but people have this idea that animals are here only for our enjoyment and use. Many of these people are Christians and claim that the bible states this. I am a Christian also, but I do not see any place where it states that animals are just our toys. If they were, they would not have nervous systems and emotions. I understand that testing prior to unleashing medicine is required and necessary, however, that does not mean that animals are lab rats that deserve to suffer anymore than we deserve to suffer. There are other ways of going about testing, especially with the technology today. Thank you for pointing this out.
P.S: To yobaby and others here that think that animals aren't as "important" as humans--perhaps it is time to pull your big girl panties up, because it has been proven that animals have familes just as humans do. What makes you think that your life is more important than another? For shame! Only such selfish and greedy people would make such comments. I am ashamed to be a human, which is perhaps the worst animal of all. Blue Angel, I have learned to put my big girl panties on long before you've worn your first diaper, which, by the sounds of it, you still are wearing them. If you had any kind of intellect, you would know that there are other ways to test possible cures for diseases. The days of depending on animals has been long over, but it is still being used because it is cheaper, and people are greedy pigs...including yourself.
I'd like to see people melt faster than a snowman if the tables were turned with US as the ones that were being tested on. Do you realize how many people would start begging for sympathy and demanding the respect they deserve? Animals cannot do this, because they cannot talk, but humans should have the heart to know that no living creature deserves to be used.

By all means heaven forbid any godless research that might find a cure or prevention for some silly human suffering or disease....
everybody knows science is the perpetuation of the pagan far left liberal fringe to deflect the one true answer ...

animal testing is one of those necisary evils. i think its wrong to test things on them like cosmetics and other unneeded things, but for serious medical requirements you need to use animals.
the reason they use mice is because theyre bred to be nearly genetically identical, to eliminate any unknown variables. if it makes you feel any better (which im sure it doesnt, because i agree it creul no matter what) once scientists are allowed to move up to larger animals, they have a pretty good idea that its moderatly safe for the animal.
ps, im not saying animal testing is morally ok, just that its needed, and that you know they arnt just sticking dogs with every random needle they can find

There is a wacko that thinks its okay to inflict pain on humans than, I suppose. I agree with Kristin. This is definitely a necessary evil. something that has to be done. The last time I checked we were the dominant species on this earth. Yes we should protect animals too. But no animal's life is more important than that of a human. Lets not forget that.

As I sit here, I realize I have nothing to say to you except I'm sure you're not a parent and you will change your mind when/if you are, and your child needs medication that was perfected by using animals to develop. Will you turn away the medication because you beliefs are so strong?
Or is it just a lot of lip? Maybe we should just let all the animals roam the streets and BE HAPPY, huh?
