No and they will not compensate for molesting little boys either they just send the offender off to a new area so he can do it over and over again. Sorry, I do not hate catholics but am not fond of the church leaders.

Interestingly, anti-semitism goes back to well before Christianity if you read ancient Roman and Greek writings. Jews spread around the world and kept to themselves triggering a lot of suspicion. The Church was originally semitic of course, but were heavily persecuted by the Jewish population as an heretical sect. So the combination of persecution and the pre-existing culture set anti-semitic thinking in motion.

The Church has apologized but there also isn't a single organization called the Catholic Church. It is literally thousands of autonomous organizations in communion with one another. To an outsider it often appears as a single entity and in the sense that all are in communion, it is. So even if the Church could go back in time and send checks to people long since dead, there is a real question of how you would track who owes whom.

It might be confusing because Catholics speak of the Church, but structurally it is flatter than most major corporations and has large autonomous units. My own bishop, Basil, is the Metropolitan Archbishop of Pittsburgh for the Ruthenian branch of the Catholic Church. He is a sui juris bishop, or in other words, he is autonomous of all other bishops. We are in union with Rome but not governed by the Pope. It happens to be America's only self-governing Catholic Church.

Likewise, the religious orders are often completely self-governing, subject only to the local bishop's broad general authority within his local jurisdiction. Some are also subject to the pope.

Finally, how do you compensate the dead for bad attitudes. Americans supported slavery on moral grounds yet who do you compensate and how. All those previously enslaved are dead. Their children may bear the scars of that time, but no one living participated in that and many Americans parents had not even immigrated here yet.

All organizations, Churches or otherwise, are creatures of their time and culture. Do you buy milk in disposable jugs? Why do you damage the world that way. You waste both plastic and you expend signicant energy that would not be necessary with reusable glass milk containers. How will your children compensate for your needless waste of the environment in this century? Who will they pay?

Why do Americans insist that they be paid for things that didn't happen to them? And every religion besides Judaism is just as guilty! Why not demand compensation from Pat Rpbertson and his buddies, since they are the ones being bigotted today?
EDIT: I'd like to know why you are so bigotted against catholics? What did any catholics do to you that was bad? Or did your 'preacher' tell you they were evil?

Hey, don't let Protestants off the hook on this one--remember that Martin Luther for some stupid reason had an anti-semitic streak in him. I don't blame just Catholics and I don't blame just Protestants--I blame all of us. God loves the Jews and so should we.

Letting all those who persecuated Catholics off the hook, are you?

And I suppose you think I am going to allow you to look the other way on all those Protestant witch burnings? What about compensation for them?

The Catholic Church is anti anything that is not them. Look at the Pope and what all he has had to say lately, about Islam. He never said he apologized for saying it. He only apologized that it caused problems. They will never change-Jews or Muslims-they will never accept them as equals.

Who cares? The new Pope seems to have a pair of balls. The Catholic church is weak right now, they need a Pope with balls!
He should hook up with Danish cartoonists' renditions of muhammed. Screw a bunch of communistic control of religion like the Islamists do, speak free. Promote peace, unlike the expendable muslim ranks of Ahmidejad-or whatever his name is.

Certainly not as long as they keep on thinking like that. They've only learnt how to dissimulate. That doesn't mean they are no longer Antisemitic.

Nope. But, then again, no religion will say they are sorry. That is what happens when things are ran by men. And we all know men don't say they are sorry.
