It seems to me that this question is coming from a painful place.
By your logic, all interpersonal relationships are destined to fail, either through negligence, disagreement, or - ultimately - mortality.
This is true, there is no way around it.
Now, does this mean that we should not ever form a relationship with another person? Of course, you could chose to go through life this way, but do you really want to?
You can shelter yourself from the potential hurt of other people and ended relationships, but there is such a wonderful set of experiences and feelings you can have with friends, and with intimate partners. If you chose to avoid these interactions, you'll go through life without really feeling anything.
I know it can be hard not to go to a dark place after a relationship ends, but in the long run, you can't help but learn about yourself when getting to know another person. That's why I have relationships.

You've got to start a relationship with a positive attitude. The way you put it is not very inviting for potential suiters if you are broadcasting this negative attitude. Remember, it's better to have loved and failed than never have loved at all. At least you have tried .
The point is for you to know what is good for YOU. Have a relationship or not to have. No-one can decide for you, but first of all you need to know what you really want in a relationship.
Good luck in whatever will make you happier than you are now.

When youre in a relationship, you'll never know what will happen, you are just happy with it... Of course there would be a problem, trial etc.. It is something that makes you strong and realized how life is...
If you believe in destiny, that there is someone meant for you, I think this will better explain everything...
I have 5 years relationship with my ex, but we are not meant together..And my husband came to my life...which is I am more happy than ever..
Every relationship has ups and down,, its just the matter on how you handled it....

well if you intend on breaking up wtih that person, then there is not much of a point. But it is good to date around so that you can pick out what you like and dont like in a partner, and find ur ideal man:)

the point of dating someone is to help get to know yourself and the guy/girl. it helps you to learn exactly what you are looking for and maybe, by off chance things may go right and you might find that one you're gonna spend the rest of your life with.
