If we say we take religion out of the context and let humanity live without its influence. Would the world still be the same?

The same? Of course not.
Better? I dunno -- organized religion is just a convenient way for like-minded people to rally around particular concepts. That there are so many different concepts, and each religion thinks they have 'revealed truth' and everybody else is wrong are the main causes of conflict & violence with regard to religion.

I honestly think, though, that people have a natural tendency to gather in groups for a purpose, and to fight other groups that are at odds with that purpose. If you got rid of religion, we'd find other things to gather around, and still fight each other. Sad, but probably true.

yes, it is true. religion is just an organized propaganda.

the world will not be the same if we let humanity live without organized-propaganda's influence. that world will be humane, a much more beautiful world. that will be the world of self-confidence and trust.

the world of humanity is the only thing we all really desire.

No. It is not organized propaganda. It has been misused over the years as a political weapon by the institutions that make money off it. There is a problem with the hierarchical nature of religion. It is not democratic or progressive. What religion needs is reform not revulsion. The authority of the Vatican is never called into question, for example.

That's exactly what the Soviet Union did. They banned religion. Christians were killed, put into prison and put into mental institutions. Communists all over the world did this. What did Lenin say....."religion is the opiate of the people". Communism was a worldview with many goals....one of which was to stamp out religion. Communism is itself a religion, an atheistic religion. According to Zbigniew Breszinski(Jimmy Carters chief of staff), the communist murdered 170 million people between 1917 and 1989 and they are still murdering people and they murdered them before 1917. Atheists kill as many people as religious people do.

Religion has it's good points and bad points. Depends on how it's used. But if there was no religion, I think the world would be far worse off because depite the fanatics that will kill in the name of religion, it serves as a moral structure that is needed on some level. I would say if there was no religion, people would be alot more selfish and alot more crime would be committed. Okay.....give me all the thumbs down you want....at least I spoke my mind.

Well, lets put it this way: most people don't believe they are in charge of their own lives and what's gonna happen to them, but rather believe in this dude who was born of a virgin, walked on water and raised from dead... Which sound more unbelieveable to you? Would the world be the same?

I agree that it's propaganda.

If you take away religion, most people wouldn't know what to do with themselves. They would have to find new ammo to use against others.
