We aren't, but Bush is using fear of Islam to stir up the dust of people's memories so he can carry out his plundering agenda. We will have to spend years, if not decades, fixing the mess he is creating round the world. When we need more than ever before to be working together to deal with the real problems of the world, Bush is driving his religious wedge into the trust people have had in each other, both as individuals and as nations. Who will be left to trust and work with us by the time these dishonorable men are done?

No, and this question has been around forever.

America is not at war against Islam. We are at war against Islamic terrorist. There is a huge difference.

Islam is a religion. A religion cannot start a war by itself, only those who twisted its teachings can. Christianity did not start the Crusades, its the kings of medieval Europe that started it. Its always about the people.

Just because two religion doesn't agree with everything means that it has to resort to a clash of arms to determine who's right or better. Any religion can be twisted by anyone.

Just think for a moment, if the United States were really at war with the religion of Islam, do you think Saudi Arabia would still remain as a major non-NATO ally? What about Indonesia, the largest muslim country in the world? What then of the rest of the arabic nations in the Middle East and elsewhere around the world?

Well, I'm an American soldier stationed in Afghanistan and I can tell you for sure that I'm not at war with Islam. Terrorist? Yes! Taliban? (please don't get Taliban and Islam confused... very different) Yes! Al-Queda? (again don't them them confused) Yes!!! Islam? Nope. Most people from nonislamic dominated countries get really confused on who is fighting. Many of the Islamic people I deal with on a daily basis hate the Taliban and Al-Queda more than we do. Most research confirms this.

A good analigy would be to say that the Taliban and Al-queda are like the Mafia during prohibition in old Chicago. Where they the majority? Not by a long shot. We they the norm? Nope again. Did the majority of the citizens of Chicago support them? Not unless they were they threatening you. Now think of NATO as the G-men. Did everyone love them for what they were doing? Nope! Did they have a job to do anyway? Yes!

Islam is a religion, you can't go to war against a religion.
Terrorist are people, you can go to war against people.
Hope this answers your question.

I think a better question is "Is Islam at war against America." To which the answer would be yes. We are the infidels, the great Satan, whom all true followers of Islam are required to kill.

The Pope was dead on when he quoted that Islam only offers violence and murder.

I have seen very few followers of Islam who are peaceful and well wishers. Most of those I have interacted with are self-seeking, self-serving, slothful, corrupt, thieving, murderous, treacherous, back-biting hypocrites.

Nope. Only at war with the fundamentalists - a select group of crazy people who call themselves Muslims.

The idea of USA vs Islam is a wrong one but is what the terrorists want us & the Muslims to think so that they could turn all Islamic believers to their cause.

We are. Because we're christians.

Christians hold the holy land (Isreal) - Islams want it back.

To top thing off, i suspect they're doubtful of thier god. According to Muhammed. God brings riches.

The richest country in the world is the United States which has god all over it.

So yes, i do bleieve we are at war with Islam. They're jealous, envious, and depressed over our power and riches. ones promised ot them - but given to a non-islamic state. Kinda Christianity vs. Islam. Holy War.

Yes. Parts of America are at war, they just do not want ot admit it publicly because they are afraid of a public backlash. The evangelicals that have been running this country for the past 8 years are a strongly religious group who have almost the same religious stubborness as Islamic extremists. I live in the south where these evangelicals are strongly rooted in the community. They believe that Christianity is under attack by left wing facsists and Islamic extremists. They believe that they will restore the Garden of Eden and God will come from Heaven and pat them on their pretty little heads and say "Great work! I am so glad you killed hundreds of thousands of people to restore my good name and defend my honor." Almost sounds like the same ideals as the Islamists doesn't it. I myself am surrounded by these "Christians" everyday. I am at times afraid to talk to these people and express my views as I will be labeled an outcast. I have no denomination and do not practice any religion. If I told these people that they would surely blacklist me. All the while drinking their whiskey, cursing, and sleeping with everything that they can get their hands on.

Now where would you get an idae like that? It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that gun-toting illiterates have spent the last 5 years running around, shooting off their mouths and guns, declaring war against Islam and invading Islamic countries, does it? Cuz if that's the connection I'm not sure I follow your logic.

I think Yes, USA is in war since long time back against Islam.

They says that they are in war against "Terriorts"
which is "Showcase" name for the world but actually they are against Islam and all Islamic Countries one by one.

There is a major difference between fighting Islamic extremists and Islamic people. Perhaps you have difficulting making the distingtion. There are extremists in every religion..."christians" that bomb abortions clinics and murder doctors. It is up to God to judge and punish; not some religious zealot...samegoes for Islamic extremists.

And to the person blasting a way at the Christians he works with...making a blanket assertion that they are out drinking their whisky, cusing and sleeping around. Not only are you an intolerant bigot; but guess what. People who like you claim they have no religious denomination? What to you want to bet they are out getting drunk, swearing at the least little thing and screwing anything they can get their hands on! Sounds like you I imagine.

And to those of you that think we are at war with Islam....go over to Iraq and get a dose of reality instead of believing everyting you see sitting on your a** in front of the TV.
