In that Bible story, Noah built a huge ark and put two of every animal within it, right?
Now, if he did in fact do just that, then where did he put the sea life? Hmmm...maybe it wasn't EVERY animal after all...but--WAIT! IF Noah didn't put two of each animal in his ark, then why isn't earth overrun by sealife? (If all land bound animals on earth today started from just two of it's individual species, and the sea life was left alone back in Noah's day, shouldn't we be vastly overpopulated with sea life now?)
The same goes for flying animals like birds and bats....did Noah or someone kill all but two of each kind so they--the birds of the earth--wouldn't bog down the ark?

I have thought WAY to long on this question. Each time I feel I have a good answer, it raises more questions. I've asked babtist preachers, catholic fathers, and reverands of a few other religions. Most say 'trust in God' and "that's just the way it happened, it's not up to us to doubt God's word" and the like. ?

Of course it is just a myth. We have the dimensions of this alleged boat and every animal couldn't fit. Plus, dinosaurs!!!!! (for creationists, only.) Also, imagine him getting the lion to lay down with the lamb - that was not for Noah. How was he going to get snakes and cougars and elephants and weasels and geckos on board - geckos!!!

it's just a story. lots of cultures have flood stories because lots of settlements are formed near big bodies of water.

the story is really wierd if you read it all - first you'll note animals are sacrificied when noah gets off the ark. think about that!

then, it notes noah gets drunk and naked and passed out and when one of his sons points this out to his brothers, he's condemned and all his children are condemned to be the slaves of mankind. they're black of course.

funniest thing in the whole story, tho, is that the bible put the rainbow in the sky so he would remember not to drown us all again!!!! think of the next rainbow you see as a string around god's finger.

and while you're reading genesis, before noah it mentions giants and in genesis 34, you'll learn jacob and/or his sons were really bad.

Sea life, as in LIVING IN THE SEA=water. Could the fish have stayed in the general area of the ark? Noah didn't have to kill any of the animals before the rain overtook the earth. The birds had no where to land/roost. They couldn't fly ALL the time. With the land covered with water, where could they get their food? Nowhere! Can't find any dry land, no food = death. The ones Noah took with him were in, or on, the ark and provided for. Well over half the earth is water covered...oceans, seas, lakes etc. It took Noah and his help/family years to build the ark. Don't think of the ark as a big boat with a top deck and big empty hull. Think of it as having several decks or floors inside of it...not just one floor, but many. Yes, some of the flood account is hard to understand. So is the crucifixion and resurrection from the dead. Accepting these things is faith. There are a lot of things people don't understand in life in general. How many understand how some little bitter pill can help take a headache away and another pill help relieve diabetes? I don't understand it...but it does. Some have a good understanding of advanced math but I don't don't. Just because I don't understand it doesn't mean it isn't real or doesn't work. The Bible may be somewhat like that. The Bible has been around for a long time. It's not full of deception and lies. It's true and can be trusted.

Think about it this way. Even if Noah didn't take two of each of the sea creatures, they'd still be bound to the sea once the waters receded. They'd keep each other in check as the natural balances work out, and therefore there would still be an ecological equilibrium established. It's not like they'd make their way onto land and take over.

As for the birds and such, you can only fly around for so long. Eventually they'd have to come down to land or something unless they just drop from exhaustion. The chance that they'd find the ark out of everywhere on earth is almost negligible, and those who did might have been scared away by the other animals on the boat.

With the birds such as ducks that swim on water naturally, that's really a tricky situation and possibly somewhat of a contradiction. If the flood had lasted longer, we'd be able to say that since there was no land, they'd be unable to reproduce and would die out that way. As it stands, maybe ducks just need to come on land at some point, to sleep maybe. This is a question for a biologist.

Read the whole story. and add up the dates and times quoited. Hint it took fourty days just to get the ark to start floating and the rain keep up until the water was 15 cubits above the highest mountain top.flying animals would not be able to stay aloft and feed for the length of time the flood waters lasted.. sea life would have been grounded when the waters recede and the rest smashed against the submerged mountains or crushed in caves by suction and the weight of the other animals sucked in along with them.
In every tale of a world flood at least one person was told the same thing as Noah was. Maybe one in each land affected. There has been evidence of 4 or 5 floods found by science.

hope i can help really,
there were two of unclean animals and 7 clean animals put into the ark. ( clean were still used for sacerfice worship )
As time goes on, there is more evidence of a world wide flood. the best i can relay to you is the woolly mammoth that had tropical leaves in its stomach. but anyway, God has made the earth very balanced. You can see in nature that when (example) there are too many rabbits, there will be an increase in predators, and when the rabbit population goes down, the predators will also. so you have a good thought, but Gods design of the world enables it to balance itself so that life can go on.

even though there are many new theories about how the flood if it really effected the hole globe, the point to look at is even the dinosaur's, many died suddenly, where they are found the bones, are under a lot of pressure to make oil, the sediment from all the water not only killed a lot of life on earth (animals) but it also caused a lot of mountains to rise and valleys to form. ( think of the weight of water putting presuressure on soft spots on the earth) . it explains a great deal of pre-historic life and reasons why we see some of the things we are now finding, including civilizations that are several feet under the existing ground.

end acceptable ideal right here article, we in comparison the Biblical and Quranic transformations of the story of Noah and the flood. on a similar time as comparable in some procedures, the two suggestions are worlds aside in distinctive procedures. even because of the fact the Biblical account of God sending a international flood without notice contradicts archaeological and historic information, the Quranic account suffers from no such issues. that's because of the fact the latter does no longer for sure recommend the considered a international flood, in spite of claims on the different, and actually in user-friendly words mentions the flood tale interior the context of Noah’s preaching to his very own human beings. for this reason, the declare of a international flood isn't tenable and we could rather recommend the theory that the flood grew to alter into probable community, affecting in user-friendly words the sinful human beings of Noah’s u . s ..

If you read Genesis 6: 7 it reads

And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

It says nothing about including the inhabitants of the sea. Many there were not so many of them and many would have been killed due to the storms that ensued or maybe after the turmoil of the event they could not produce very many offspring for awhile, who knows for sure but it had to be something. The fowls would have know place to land, they could not land on the ark with it being tossed to and fro, and those not on the ark would have been destroyed along with all the other animals.

The bible is like a riddle, it's made for only the highest of intelligence to understand it. The ignorant among us will never understand it. Try to see the meaning of it's words in a common sense form, look for what is possible to achieve the goals in the bible. There is an answer to everything there.

Even outside of the idea of religion there is a story for us to learn from in the bible, there will never be another one like it, ten people can read the same paragraph and see something different, there is no other book like it.

Many modern day Christians see the old testament of the bible as not necessarily literal, but are stories that have an important message - such as fables. In fact, old testimate stories, especially genesis, can be seen in a similar way to the Dreamtime stories of the Australian Aboriginal peoples. They are stories to explain what science could not (when the stories were written).
Rather than concentrating on whether the events happened exactly as described, concentrate on the message of the story. Why was this story included in the Bible? Obviously because it has something worthy to tell you. Surely that is far more important than its historical accuracy.

The earth was flooded so he wouldn't have to bring sea life into the ark, they knew how to swim :) Nature balances out itself so therefore no over abundance of anything.
Birds and bats can't swim they would have no where to rest so they too would have drowned.
