Seems religious people are too willing to limit themselves in this mortal life for a leap of faith that they will exist in some capacity in the afterlife? Seems like youre telling God youre not satisfied with being human and you want to be like God. Any comments?

I don't forsake this life, I'm more contented now than ever, don't fall for the fallacy that you have to suffer always in this life when you follow Jesus Christ, you just don't quite the contrary. Still hold hope for you spooky
Sorry about your old account, Hey did you get a make over?

Think about it the other way. Why take the leap of faith that the afterlife doesn't exist? Is it worth it to live comfortably in this life only to be judged, tortured in an afterlife or reborn into a bad situation in the cycle of life and death? If one believes in a great meaning to their life than this life means nothing compared to what we will be facing after it.

Life on this Earth is but for a short time, but the afterlife is for eternity. I tend not to gamble when my soul is at stake.
As an afterthought, just what do you think religious people are missing out on? I am a Christian, been married for 20 years, have 2 beautiful children, have wonderful parents and I am living a very rewarding and fulfilling life. What exactly did I limit myself on?

You state a contradiction. While you have life as a mortal, you don't forsake it. To hope in an afterlife that will be beyond this mortal coil, as the poet spoke it, is not an unworthy effort.

You are not telling God your unsatisfied with this life, since this life is but an interim stop in your progression towards Him. Your human exsistance is but a learning place for you. Your creation in His image is not two arms, and two legs. Its that you carry a spirit. It is only in this manner that you are "In His image." He is spirit.
There is no limitation to you, or us, in this life except that which we do to ourselves. God can and does accept us where we are, as long as "where we are" is living for Him.

The goal of this life is being with God in immortality in the next, which is heavenly bliss. While living here in mortality we are to live a full life having many experiences and learning all we can, not try to end it early.

Ther fact of the matter is, living a true Christian existence results in unparalleled freedom and personal empowerment.

You work to screen out negative behavior, and then you have more time to pursue all the good stuff.

It just seems strange to those who don't understand it.

And the afterlife is just a bonus.

Well, isn't God telling us to not be satisfied with this life because Heaven is better?

Doesn't life on earth mean LESS to Christians than to say...Atheists? Christians believe that there is a BETTER life after this. Atheists believe that this life is the only one. Thus they are more Pro-Life.

If there truly was a sanctity to life, there wouldn't be so much DEATH in nature. There is NO sanctity in life. Nature is proof of that.

God had asked Adam and eve to live peacefully and happily without going for the apple. They chose the apple instead of happy life. Today it is the same thing. Those who live normal contended life are happy .It is only those who go for the prohibited apple are sad.
So one need not forsake happy life on this earth. .

These people are not really living, they are barely alive with their heads in a fug of religious clap-trap...shame if they don't wake up to reality before their human life is over as they will have missed the whole show.

I believe too many people live for something which may or may not be there. In doing so they let this life slip by them. I cannot understand such thinking myself. It seems a great waste to me.
