What happens if I use zoloft meds which expired 2 years ago?
I suffer from anxiety and depression and I found a bottle of zoloft in my house. But the dated which is it good through was 2 years ago.
What will happen if I take some of them? Are they still good? I just need something to let me feel calmer and reduce panic attacks.

Antidepressants typically don't become toxic when expired, they just lose their potency so they will not be as effective if they weren't expired. You could also call a pharmacy and speak to the pharmacist and ask to be sure. I'd try to get a current prescription/current meds if I was you in order to help treat your symptoms.

zoloft is a common anti depressant. It is mild and has low side effects. I used to take them even outdated. Like any drug I would call a physician just to make sure but i know they cant hurt you in any way. the most harm they could maybe do is not work or make you more depressed.

If they were about 3 months expired, I would say take them. But not 2 years. Throw them away.

You aren't supposed to take pills that are expired. After all, the expiration date is there for a reason. Would you eat 2 year old expired milk? (i didn't think so)
