"God did not create man but ancient man who created God" -- Carl Sagan. Psychiatrists say that people feel better if they believe that they get a 2nd chance at life. You'll only be a spirit say the 1500 different religions (no body, no brain, no mind, no appetite). You'll be like a puff of smoke who will admire a man living in a cloud. This man is so messed up that he can't get his religion act together, but you'll be so happy admiring him. Remember that Biblical people had an I.Q. of about 1 or 2 (99% illiteracy rate among Biblical people). Ever see those Cave Drawings from about 10,000 years ago where the people had drawn on the cave walls images of men in flying vehicles? What do you think that the Biblical Dummies thought when they saw a man in a flying vehicle? It was a higher power alright and religion has taken this to a $3 billion dollar a year business. It's called, "Pie in the Sky When You Die". But what will happen when we make contact with beings from other Worlds? We are slowly being eased into this reality. Have you noticed that advertising now frequently shows aliens? The day will come when religion will be no more (maybe then we will have World Peace).

I remember a time when I said things like this and I was very serious about it. I could not wrap my mind around a concept that just didn't make sense. I even thought I did not want a God who expected more of me than I was allowed to expect of Him. Guess what. I get it now. I was attributing human reason to the Almighty God. What I didn't understand was that He is THAT HE IS. God is forever... eternity is that forever that we cannot wrap our minds around... but it is true. God does not stop existing, He has no creator because He is the Creator, and He is THE Higher Power. It is mind-boggling, but true.

Awesome question!! Truth is he doesn't care because he doesn't exist... I love the way they always refer to gods followers as his flock..because thats exactly what they are dumb sheep..Religion was created to manipulate peoples behavior and give people hope after death..Its incredible with the advances in science that people continue to have this blind faith...someone explain dinosaurs to me..there a creature of the earth that far outdates humans..solid proof in museums..lol its a falicie..If he can't be proven to be untrue then it must be true..or so they say..

What continues to keep these beliefs alive are the blind faith of many and their inability to see the simplicity of life. God, The Bible, and religion will continue on forever into the annals of time. Due to the simple fact that we as a people are not ready to accept the truth that life is exactly that- life. We live and we die, it’s that simple. It’s not what you do or don’t believe in or what religion you are. It’s what you’ve done with your time here and the peoples’ lives you’ve impacted. The real fact of the matter is not whether God exists or doesn’t exist, but that everyone should live a moral life no matter what their beliefs are. .

I accept God as the highest power, and believe He has always existed and will always exist.

If you believe in God that is the working description you have been given. "In the beginning...etc.)

Eternity is a long time. In order to accept this description of God you have to believe in eternity.

I think any God whatsoever would think "Damn and Blast! Won't they ever come to their senses!" I hope he does believe in a higher power, if he needs something to save him from thinking at all, or to cheer him up and save him from personal responsibility, as others do.
