It definitely sounds like a loose wire. I had the same problem with my stereo. You should get it fixed ASAP, because that crackle can wreck your speakers. Pep Boys does good work cheaply. If you have a warranty you can take it to the car dealership. If you purchased a stereo that wasn't what was originally in the car, often you can have that fixed for free if you have the receipt and claim that it was a flaw with the installation.

if it's crackling when you accelerate, it's some type of interference.... if you cross a speaker wire with a power wire (any wire that carries current) then it will cause crackling... or it could just be a loose wire... always run speaker wires parallel with power, never cross them..... if it crackles in all the speakers, then it's probably some type of interference as mentioned.. if just one speaker crackles, my guess is that it's a loose wire.. good luck! =)

sounds like a contact short somewhere, most likely a speaker wire in the door. Does the crackle come from one specific speaker? If so, check that one first.

trace your radio wires, find out what's happening when you drive.

does it happen when you play a tape or CD? if only when you listen to the radio then trace the antenna wire. find out what's going on there.

or is it a problem to some of the speakers or the sound quality.

how old is your car? your problem could be anything like a loose engine mount pulling on the wiring harness.

cheapest thing you can do is find your problem. won't take long to fix once you know what it is
