For about a month I've been working with my computer saying "Low Disc Space" on a small pop up. I've defragmented, I've deleted everything but the bare bones that I need to keep going, and till with the message. Just about every third day I get a message that says I NEED to delete 200mb worth of files immediately. Is this a virus of some sort? AVG hasn't picked anything up.

Go to downloads.com and download a different AV program. What one won't pick up, one will. Here are some other solutions you can try to increase space: do you have a adware scanner to remover malware and more? What about deleting games and other programs you barely use. Clean the browsers cache, Take your internet history down from 20 days to 5 or less. If push comes to shove, Hard drives run pretty cheap nowadays. You can purchase 80 GB for like $79.99 at a major electronic chain store.

No this is not a virus. Actually in windows XP SP2 it is a feature that drive c: needs 200 MB space free. So just move ur files from c: drive to some other drive. This will solve ur problem.

It depends...If you HD is extremely small, such as a 4GB or something like that, there is your problem. If your hard drive is anywhere over 10GB I don't see that as a problem. I know of no OS that requires more than a few GB of space. The only other thing I can think of is empty your recycle bin. Items in your recycle bin still count as used disc space in all Windows OS. If you haven't been emptying the recycle bin, you haven't been freeing up space in the OS's eyes.
