Jesus said people would recognize His disciples by their love (John 13:35)--and if you have His love in you because of your trust in Him, you're much more of a Christian than these bad actors are. Just because people claim to be Christian doesn't mean they are. Jesus said that not everyone who calls Him "Lord" will enter heaven, but only those who do the Father's will. Anyone can call Him Lord, but not everyone will do what He commands.
I've written some blog entries recently about hypocrisy among Christians. Check out the links below.

Examine yourself as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourself. Do you not know yourself, that Jesus Christ is in you?—UNLESS INDEED YOU ARE DISQUALIFIED. (2 Corinthians 13:5) I'm I judging you with my answer? No, I’m not of course. Likewise, many Christians are not judging others, yet many people think we are. As Christian, we should not "judge others" but simply tell the world of God’s judgment —that God (not the Christians) has judged all the world as being guilty before Him (Romans 3:19,23). If you see me walk upon a burning building, and you tell me that I'm taking a very wrong way or path. Do you think I would see you as a judging person? My answer is NO! We are commanded to tell others about God's judgment. Jesus said in Luke 13:13: "...unless you repent, you too will all perish." And how will they repent if they don't know what's their evil? We have to tell people what is wrong in their lives, especially if they don't know that judgment day will come for all, whether we like it or not.

Friend dont base who you are on the actions of other people. Because one person decides to act a certain way proper or improper has no bearing on your relationship with God. Christian by definition means you follow the teachings of Christ.... read his word to find out what those are and follow accordingly. You will not be judged based on the actions of anyone other than yourself. So dont hold yourself accountable to either do or say what anyone else does or says. Follow his word be prayerful about your relationship with God and enjoy life to its fullest.

All you can do is pray about it and go by your actions. If you do something that you know is wrong, do you feel a burden on your soul to fix it, stop it, or ask forgiveness? Do you get sudden urges to ask people questions like "Do you go to church?" This is the feeling of the Holy Spirit which is part of the Trinity. I would suggest talking to a preacher or someone you trust and re-dedicate your life. This basically means that you get saved again whether you are already or not, and that you want to re-commit yourself to live for him.

Yes I would say you are a christian you are just one of the better ones who respect others. They could learn something from you!
I would also suggest you over look the answer you got from the user "Esther" cause she is one of those people you are talking about. She is on here judging people all the time and most of the time she is rude and thinks she is better then others!

Yes you are.
You are God's child once you believe and accept that Jesus died on the cross for you. If you believe in God, and love Him.
It's really as simple as that.
That's why I dislike the fact that there are many religions. I love the differences and traditions in each, but the first rule applies. Believe in God? Believe in what Jesus did for you? Love Him?
Then you are His.

The people I know who claim to be Christians are very mean. In fact, what do you think of someone who is Christian but refuses to let a child with special needs (ADHD, Bipolar, and OCD) live with them just b/c they don't want to deal with it? I also know someone who claims they are born again but broke a crucifix and mailed it to a catholic priest. Really, that sounds so nasty.

Well if you are a Christian, may I point out a couple of things to you? First, we are to be loving. And gossiping about the behavior of some "other" women on Yahoo answers isn't loving. Secondly, in the same vein....love covers a multitude of sins. So once again, to be Christ like, even if you did witness something like that, blabbing it on Yahoo Answers isn't a good idea. Also...I'm not sure if you see how obvious this is, but...yeah...you just judged someone yourself.
Take the beam out of your own eye...before looking at the speck in your brothers (or sisters) eye.
