No. Frequency too high and splitters not able to handle that. Need separate lines in from the dish.

I assume that line plugs into your DirecTV receiver. In that case you cannot use an ordinary spliter. However, DirecTV uses two cables from the antenna to the reciever, so it is not clear what kind of setup you have. What do you plug that wire into? Does it go directly into your TV? If so, what input (antenna, external video)? Is your DirecTV part of the apartment distribution? In a simple DIrecTV setup, you can add more receivers to an antenna through the use of a multiswitch. This takes the antenna cables and has outputs for a number of receivers. However, you cannot just hook up an additional receiver to your antenna; you have to call DirecTV to activate it, and they will charge you a monthly "mirroring" fee (usually $5). The best way to find out is to call DirecTV and tell them what you want to do.

Absolutely not. you will lose split your signal in 1/2 and only get 1/2 of your channels. You can only use a splitter if you want to attach two tv's to one box and then you have to watch the same channel in both rooms because there is only 1 box in control. Also you can only put the splitter on the "out to tv" cable.
Don't you have a dual LNB on the dish to add a 2nd cable?
You can also call DTV tech service 24 hrs a day 7 days a week, even all holidays.

If it is possible, it would suck because then all the TVs would have the same show playing. You couldn't have different shows on different sets.
