I've taken both anatomy and physiology and really liked both so they were relatively easy for me; however, be prepared to do a fair amount of memorizing. In the anatomy class I took, we had practicum exams where the instructor would put a pin on something and I had to identify it. I highly recommend studying from the models rather than trying to get it from a picture in a book.

I actually took Anatomy & Physiology last year. The main studying tip I would give you would be to make flash cards. In class, take detailed notes and when you get home, make flash cards about what you learned in class. Also, make sure you know the diagrams! I learned that my teacher LOVED testing us on the diagram, so that should be one of the first things you study. If you pay attention, take notes and really try to understand the material, you should be fine. I found I had the most problems in that class when I spaced out and didn't take notes. Good luck in the class and getting into the nursing program. By the way, if you feel that you don't have a strong biology background, you might want to take both. So maybe you could take biology in the morning and anatomy in the afternoon. I was the same as you with taking biology freshman year and I found that I had to study harder than most people as a result. To be safe, you should take biology! Again, best of luck in all you do!

They are really interesting. Personally I enjoyed physiology a lot more, found anatomy quite hard, but it's different for different people, depending on your personal preference... Either way, they're both fun when you pass in the end!

Anatomy & Physiology is a challenging class. The lab in particular is difficult. There is alot of memorization. If you have an interest in anatomy, you will enjoy it. Most people just struggle through.
As difficult as A&P is, Animal physiology is that much more difficult. It is more conceptual and the labs are more hypothetical.

I took "honors" A&P in high school... which was a joke. Teacher who didn't know what she was doing. I think our class was easier than the regular A&P. Anyway, I plan on going for a nursing degree so of course I'll need college A&P. I had friends at college who were taking A&P to get into the nursing program and were complaining about how hard it is... anatomy is a lot of memorization... not sure about the physio part.

It largely depends on the level of anatomy and phys. you are going to take. Lower level classes tend to be fairly broad and easier. The tests tend to be multiple choice, but classes like this are necessary. I have taken those classes and I have taken anatomy taught by a PHD in human anatomy. Let me tell you there is no comparison, real med. school level anatomy is really tough, but I don't think you will need to take it at that level. For pharm. you will be taking upper level chemistry and that is a real challenge. Take the class, work hard and you will do fine.

im taking it right now so starting material is pretty easy. Anatomy part has a lot of memorizing but its just like...single words and where it is, identifying types of tissue and cells etc. Not that bad if you are good at differentiating tehings and memorizing. None of the analyzing crap of organic chemistry.
physiology is easy if youve taken gen chem and gen biology.

I'm taking A&P2 right now. I think it is much easier than A&P1.
