You see alot about Mexicans because 57% are Mexican. Others are hispanic natives of other countries, but sometimes people assume these people must be Mexican. The protests have only strenghtened the idea that the majority are Mexican(Mexican flags, referrals to stolen land, etc). The fact that so many people see groups in the media like La Raza, Mecha, advocating rights for illegals further soldifies this. There are a great deal of Asian and black illegals too. I think the issue here is generaliztion coupled with media fuel. Is it right? Of course not.

Yes there are a number of other nationalities that are here illegally. The reason is that today more Illegal immigrants enter the country then legal and 80% are from Mexico so it is a problem. They are causing more problem in every aspect.
75% of all L. A. felony warrant are for Illegals Mexican.
25% of our nation prisoners are illegal and 80% of them are Mexican.
It is a growing problem and if something isn't done it is going to get nasty.

what??? i've never heard a MEChista say that...
anyway... because it's true, a vast majority of illegal immigrants are of Mexican nationality but mainly and that makes it easier to make Mexicans the scapegoat for all things wrong... ignoring the negative effect NAFTA and other US initiatated treaties and transactions impacted Mexican economy and forces a lot of Mexicans to cross the border... anyway... did you know that the majority of Mex illegal immigrants come from the poorest areas, they're the poor of the poor... a lot of farm people that lost lands + [farm based economy] jobs
illegality does not equal immorality
just because they're here illegally it doesn't mean that it's innately wrong
there are also illegal asians, south americans and europeans... a lot of south american's will lie and say they're mexican when caught by border patrol because they do not want to get sent all the way back to their really far away s. amer countries, instead they want to be deported to mexico so they can stay in mex as illegals also and work there or to try to make their way back to the US again
asians have it harder to get into the US because of the big body of water we call the pacific but they do get in, also they do a lot of arranged paid-marriages, where they pay an already US-citizen to marry them or one of their relatives [usually it's parents paying to have their kids married] so that that person can become a US citizen too... so, the whole procedure is legal but illegal at the same time...

It's true I personally believe the immigration issue was based purely out of racism because you hear all this bad stuff about Mexicans and no one else is mentioned it seems like Mexicans are the only ones immigrating to the U.S. what about the Asians Europeans etc. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be having this problem if it was immigrants from Germany or Sweden that where coming over since most of them are white they would mix right in but since Mexico borders the U.S. and most people in Mexico are of color the government is trying to make it look like a huge scandal like what is going to happen if we let all these immigrants in nothing will happen most immigrants are hard working people who come to the U.S. to try to improve their lives so I don't see why everyone treats us like trash we love this country and we deserve the same rights all of you have!!

I've always found it interesting that when people talk about illegal immigrants they automatically think of Mexicans. Actually, a lot of people from European countries come here illegally too(Russians for example). I think since the Mexicans seem to be more in the forefront of the news lately, that they automatically become the focus.

It is because there are soooooooo many of them; more than any other group. When they say illegal they are talking about anyone who is illegal. Anyone who is here illegally.
It just so happens, because Mexico is right at our border, it is a lot easier for them to come over, so of course there are more.
Canadians are at our Northern border, but why should they want to come here, when they have it better up there. So there aren't that many Canadian immigrants.
Black people were forced over here by early Americans to be slaves. They did not come here illegally.
A lot of Viet Namese, Japanese, Cambodians, Fillipinos, and others came to our country, on a visa after wars in their countries were over. There are a lot of them that are illegal; but not as many as Mexicans. They are the second most.

There are many illegals in the U.S. besides Mexican nationals. The reason we hear so much about Mexicans is because of the ponderous nature and tremendously high numbers of them. All Mexican nationals are not illegal, as you're probably aware of, but many are, and the number of them is of critical concern to Americans and lawmakers because of the ramifications of the illegality. For instance, how does one without a green card or proper papers get a job? Most often they purloin an existing social security number - possibly yours or mine - and use it, even open up credit card accounts and charge, and either pay or not pay the payments. Often, one who willfully breaks the law in one respect will break it in others. Our jails are rapidly filling up with illegal aliens. And on and on. When things are done legitimately, then all are working towards the same goal playing by the same rules.
If you watch the news as diligently as I do, you will hear of illegal aliens of other races. In fact, I've heard of dozens of countries. There is a preponderance now of illegal Asians - mostly Chinese - smuggled on boats and then dissipated across the landscape. But the magnitude of the Mexican National emigration from their native country has been debated and pondered innumerable times in the sessions of Congress and in colleges and universities, and across the land. Our country is aging. We have a paucity of young workers to do the job that requries strength, endurance, reflexes, and other resources that the aging population (baby boomers are now retiring) simply does not have or are unwilling to attempt. Without the mass migration of the Mexican workers, our factories would lie dormant and derelict of workers. All of our stores would have help wanted signs (even more than now). And our industry and commerce would grind to a halt. The same is true of many European countries. Each of them have their mass influx of aliens from neighboring countries. Germany has its Turks. France its Moroccans. Spain its Arabs. The demographics of this world is changing. The issue of the effusive media coverage of Mexican immigration is a matter of proximity, not having to do with any other particular demographic characteristic.

Very good question. There are a lot of illegals from many countries. In the San Francisco area the biggest group of illegals are from Ireland.
Mexicanos may be the replacement for blacks, but American Indians still hold the record for longest, bloodiest and most unrelenting hatred by the squatters who stole the western hemisphere.

Up close, or from a distance it's hard to tell a Muslim from a Mexican. A North Korean from a Japanese, or a Indian from an Iraqui. Either way, they are all here in numbers that would send shivers up your spine. Are we not a Nation of many differant tribes and nationalites I think if it wern't for them being here, we natives0if you will), would be toast.!

Unfortunately because Mexicans are the dominant offenders we hear about them more and people generalize more, or use it as an excuse for racism. ALL illegals are a problem and a potential threat no matter what color skin, I don't care if they are purple. It's the whole ILLEGAL thing that pisses me off.
