yes,, I live in SaudiARabia and these are very similar things.. They sell them so commonly on the street and everyone uses them as incence in their homes.. Its sort of a tradition that after you cook something smelly, like fried fish, we burn frankincense or mihr to get rid of the fishy smell... its an usual looking thing.. it is made from the dried hardened tree sap of a special fir tree from the middle east.. the shop venders sell it in huge sheets and chop off a bit and crush it into little rocks and sell you a little bag of it. we have incence burners and put a bit of coal (special coal to light that keep incense burning) and put a piece of frankincense (sap) the size of a dime or so ontop of the coal in the burner and it starts melting and smoking immediatly.. it gives the house a nice woodsy smell.. some venders soak the sap in perfumed oils and this gives it a deeper smell. the color of the sap is a clearish amber (yellow/gold) color. the perfumed ones are darker clear brownish looking.. We also use a special wood chip known as backhoor. it is the bark of a special tree found in the far east, india, maylasia etc. this when chipped up and put on the coal, smokes also.. gives a wonderful natural purfumed essense.. these are the original incence you hear about from biblical times.. Some are so expensive, only wealthy folks can purchace them.. We usually use common incence, but I have some friends that will buy a little handful. like (1/2 cup) of the wood chips that cost like 500$ for that amount.. Needless to say. I dont use that.. but hope this info helps you..

I once heard Frankenstein say 'mihhhr, mihhhr..' as he was terrorizing the town.

Plus, I've smelled Frankincense. I think myrrh is used in the anointing oil of Catholicism, so I've probably smelled that too.

I have smelled Frankincense, many years ago. If I remember correctly it had a woodsy, spicy clean scent.

yes they are very nice, kind of a spice smell. They are also used in anointing oil production. The oil smells like a very nice perfume.
