no. why would an 'almighty god' punish any of his 'people' for not having the strength to deal with issues that are out of their control? thats just stupid. lots of people that have killed themselves have been in a poor mental state....they didnt have very much control over their actions...so they should be punished?? thats like saying jesus should have ripped his hands from the cross, got down and walked away, but NOPE he chose to die, he should be punished OKAY-WHATEVER!! people are so stupid...so quick to judge....so UNABLE to think for themselves....so no..my answer is no=)

Suicide, along with adultery and apostasy, have been viewed as unredeemable sins. Thomas Aquinas classified suicide as a mortal sin (unforgivable). Alternatively, Martin Luther and John Calvin did not consider suicide as an unforgivable sin. To my knowledge, the only sin the Bible declares to be unforgivable is that of blaspheming the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31-32). With prayer and study, I am confident you will arrive at the right understanding. My prayers will be with you.

God bless,

Laura

If you believe that sin and forgiveness are on some scorecard, and if you die in the "sin" column, you lose. But I don't see things that way.

Suicide is a response to pain. People don't kill themselves simply because they want to die, they want the pain to stop. I believe sin and forgiveness are a matter of the heart, and God is able to see what's in our hearts, even if all we feel is pain.

So I don't see suicide as unpardonable, or a ticket to hell. I know I'll get 'thumbs down' for this, because what you want to hear is that God's illogical and Christians are stupid.

Murdering yourself is not a good position to be in though. God might give one a second chance, but probably only if that one was under extreme duress, mental insanity, or something like that. Blasphemy or to totally disregard the works of God and harden yourself against his Holy Spirit is the only unforgivable sin mentioned in the Bible

The only unforgivable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

No. The Bible says it's "blasphemy of the holy spririt" and gives the context for that; it's calling the works of the holy spirit the works of a demon. Note that since the Bible says blasphemy of the holy spirit is the ONLY unforgivable sin, that means that suicide is in fact forgivable from a Biblical perspective, assuming it is even a sin. The Bible never condemns it.

Seems kind of silly to make 'blasphemey of the holy spirit' unpardonable, but Jesus isn't famous for his rational capacity, because he was possesed by demons. That's where his power came from.

Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
