Andre Crouch said it well with:

The blood that Jesus shed for me
Way back on Calvary
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day
It will never lose its power.

It soothes my doubts and calms my fears
And it dries all my tears
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day
It will never lose its power.

Many years ago, one very dark night, the death angle passed through Egypt. It took the life of the first born in every home in Egypt except those homes that applied the blood of an unblemished lamb on the door post. This lamb only was a down payment for the blood of the LAMB OF GOD who takes away the sin of the world. Today if anyone applies the the Blood that Jesus shed for us, we will pass from death unto life and we will be given eternal life.

Ray Boltz wrote:

One drop of blood
Fell to the scales
It covered my transgressions
And all the times I failed
The enemy was mighty
he came in like a flood
he was defeated by one drop of blood

Personally, I have actually seen demons tremble at the Blood of Jesus Christ. I have seen demons who told me they had a contract with the person they were in put their tail between their legs and run when we told them that that person had that contract stamped VOID by the BLOOD OF THE LAMB!

There IS....POWER IN THE BLOOD!

The passover meal was a type of Jesus to be sacrificed to set us free (spiritually) from our bondage to sin. This is why John the Baptist said: Behold the Lamb of God. By Christ's sacrifice, like the lamb of Passover, our sins are forgiven. The book of Revelation also refers to those who washed their robes in the blood of the lamb.

The Consecrated bread and wine is the true body and blood of Jesus Christ. John 6:55 Jesus told over 72 disciples this and they could not accept this truth and left Jesus because they knew Jesus was talking about canniblism.

Consider the following:

1. Changing Water Into Wine. John 2:1-12

2. Feeding the Multitude. Matthew 14:13-21; Mark 6:30-44; Luke 9:10-17; & John 6:1-14

3. John 6:48 & 55

4. The Passover of Our Lord. Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23:25.

5. The Road to Emmaus:Luke 24:13-35 & Mark 16:12-13.

In ancient days, sacrifice meant to make something or someone holy. After Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden, the Lord gave them the law of sacrifice. This law included offering the firstborn of their flocks. This sacrifice symbolized the sacrifice that would be made by the Only Begotten Son of God (Moses 5: 4-8). This practice continued until the death of Jesus Christ, which ended animal sacrifice as a gospel ordinance. The atoning power of a sacrifice was in the blood because the blood was regarded as essential to life. Animal sacrifice in the Old Testament was a symbol of the great sacrifice later performed by Jesus Christ. The lamb sacrifice was used many times in the Old Testament to indicate the purest of sacrifice for the atonement of sin. The lamb had to be without spot or defect. Jesus was that perfect sacrifice for the atonement of man's sin, perpetually, for the remainder of time, until His return.

His sweat was as it were great drops of blood, Luke 22: 44. We are sanctified by the shedding of the blood of Christ, Heb. 10: 1-22. Blood came from every pore, Mosiah 3: 7 (D&C 19: 18). The Lord’s blood was shed for the remission of sins, D&C 27: 2. Jesus wrought a perfect atonement through shedding his blood, D&C 76: 69. By the blood ye are sanctified, Moses 6: 60.

A name for the Savior that refers to Jesus as the sacrificial offering given in our behalf.
He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, Isa. 53: 7 (Mosiah 14: 7). Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world, John 1: 29 (Alma 7: 14). Ye were redeemed with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish, 1 Pet. 1: 18-20. Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, Rev. 5: 12. We overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb, Rev. 12: 11. These are made white in the blood of the Lamb, because of their faith in him, 1 Ne. 12: 11. The Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father, and the Savior of the world, 1 Ne. 13: 40 (1 Ne. 11: 21). Cry mightily unto the Father in the name of Jesus, that perhaps ye may be cleansed by the blood of the Lamb, Morm. 9: 6 (Rev. 7: 14; Alma 34: 36). The Son of Man is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, Moses 7: 47.

The blood of the Lamb (Jesus) refers to how we get covered by his blood that he shed for us when he died on the cross for our sins. Without this we would all go to Hell. God is perfect, initially we were too, until Adam and Eve made a definitive choice to disobey him. They brought sin into the world, Jesus takes away the sins of the world.

The Father was willing to turn His head and let His Son suffer all of the guilt and shame of the world. His blood is purity. Without it the heathen could never be sanctified.

I am without blemish. When God looks at me, because of the blood of the Lamb, what He sees is the righteousness of His son.
