It's a pretty wide-ranging term. Depends on the context. Someone who stares at people without smiling or interacting with them is creepy. Someone who keeps strange things in their desk drawers might be creepy, depending on what they are.

Basically, if you're called creepy, it just means you made someone feel uncomfortable. The creepiest guy at work I know does the staring thing, especially at women's chests. He'll talk to women, but he will never make eye-contact with them. Instead, he stares at their chests the whole time. That's creepy. Makes me wonder if he's an ax-murderer.

Your timing is off - you say the wrong thing at the wrong time in the wrong situation?

I can give you an example of creepy - I stopped at the gas station got gas for the car and ran in and grabbed a gallon of milk and there was this guy standing there staring. I walked around him and he said "hi". I was polite and replied hi - he said your cute - ummm thanks - are you married - yes - oh (still staring) welll - I walked out of there and he was still staring. Believe me I ain't that good looking and he was creepy.

But you sound like you don't want to be creepy and want to isolate the why. Ask someone close to you like a family member they would be better able to help you isolate it.

On the other hand, what kind of a boss tells his employee that he is creepy sounds like a human resource issue.

Good Luck

creepy is what you call the quiet guy who sneaks around and looks up ladies' skirts. someone who makes your skin crawl

your boss had no right to say that to you even if its true, Iys a very personal comment that has nothing at all to do with your work. Is there someone higher than him to complain to? I would!

I have no idea if you are UK, US or other, but in the UK thats slander and the employment acts protect you from HARRASSMENT.

reckoning on the priority matter for a definite weblog positioned up (because i do no longer write fiction) i will the two completely circumvent asserting what i myself recommend/prefer to declare or i will partly circumvent it. I attempt to no longer be offensive or crass, particularly if it may be construed as hate speech. I additionally circumvent swearing too lots because of the fact it does not help get my think approximately the time of until eventually of direction it provides the suited emphasis to the piece. With fiction you do have slightly extra resourceful leeway than I do yet whether I did write fiction I doubt i could upload something too offensive. it quite is not approximately no longer asserting what i myself recommend or political correctness, it quite is basically uncomplicated experience in my international. there's a super line between creativity and being overly offensive for the sake of marvel. BQ1: on social accumulating, sure. i do no longer want nor choose my readers to think of i'm packed with hate, anger, or intolerance because i'm no longer. BQ2: No novel to be revealed. BQ3: often. it quite is in basic terms weblog posting nevertheless so i'm able to write at any time. i do no longer positioned time limits on myself. I basically write while i decide directly to place in writing. EDIT: You meant "off topic" no longer "off the checklist". there's a brilliant difference my buddy. i've got been a journalist so i understand the meanings of "on the checklist", "off the checklist", and "on history".

Means you give them the creep! Probably make them feel uneasy, scared, revolted. You should discuss why you were named this way if you want to changed that. Maybe it's something you did or say would do.

I ate insects at the Insectarium (special yearly activity they have in Montreal) and this gave many people the creeps!

I guess it depends on what you were doing when he called you that, or what you told him that made him call you that. To me, creepy people make me uneasy - they just have an odd presence about them. They do questionable things, and say things that don't always sit the right way.

I think you should ask your boss what he meant. Perhaps he meant you are secretive. At the very least, I think he was rude to say that to you.

But, I would suggest that you also ask a close friend to help you decide what you can change in yourself to present yourself in a better light.

You sound like a nice person to me.

It means that you're weird or strange; you seem like you're saying or doing something that isn't normal, and it may scare some people. That's what it basically means.
