So God predestined Judas to betray Christ, he let the devil take over....

So would it be fair for Judas to go to hell for betraying Christ, if he had no say in it?

What happened to God's freewill approach?

John 14:26-27

Jesus answered, "It is he who whom I have dipped it." And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27Now after the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Then Jesus said to him, "What you do, do quickly."

So it was just coincidence that the devil entered Judas heart right after Jesus cursed him?

Who said God was fair? :) Christians are predestined. Just ask John Calvin.

"[Christians] were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will." -- Ephesians 1:11-12

Also, guess what? MOST people are going to Hell. More people are going to Hell than Heaven. "For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." -- Matthew 7:13-14

Update: To orchidmg: We can assume that Judas went to Hell because Jesus said that "It would be better FOR HIM if he had not been born." -- Mark 14:21

God knew Judas' heart and He knew that Judas was going to betray Jesus. Before Judas even ate the dipped bread he had already decided to betray Jesus!! That was the only way that God could allow satan to enter Judas!
God did not predestine Judas to betray Jesus! All men are given a free will whether to sin or not! The choice is up to us!

Judas was not without hope after he had betrayed Jesus! He could have had a repentant heart and asked God to forgive him but no he decided to go hang himself instead!

Judas doing God's will ? Judas Iscariot (from the word "sicarios" meaning knife showing his old manner of living - assassin) stayed with Jesus on seeing his miracles, thinking that he would DESTROY the Romans. However Jesus did not come to destroy, but to save. Judas simply betrayed his innermost thoughts of hate when he betrayed Jesus out of hate and frustration that he would not be king by force. (and Judas a worthy in his political kingdom). It was clear that all the teachings of Christ went over his head till the last supper when he realized that Christ did not come to kill or destroy the occupiers. Judas also continually showed his evil side - thievery and stealing from the bag that was used to give the poor. John 13:29 …he (Judas) was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.
According to this perverted logic, is Satan doing God's will ? (they think so in Gnosticism which is a perversion of the truth and also in the false religion of Kabbalah, somehow making out evil to be predestined, rather than simply predicted)

God knew from eternity what Judas and all the others involved in the passion would do.

He didn't cause any of them to do anything against their will. He simply took into account all their actions, and then quite appropriately, God's divine will prevailed.

Knowing something in advance does give one an advantage, but it doesn't predestine any particular outcome.

It sounds as though you believe in double predestination, like Calvin did.

First you need to understand that Judas heart was not for God , nor Jesus. He believed in God and Jesus, but so does the devil for that matter.

Judas was picked as an apostle for one reason and that was that his heart was set on self and self alone. The devil wanted Peter, that is made clear in scripture, for he already knew that Judas was his, he wanted someone that was not his, and God said no. The devil was left with Judas, one of which already belonged to him.

So, no. Judas made the decision in his heart to worship only himself. God used him for that purpose, but only after Judas had already rejected submission to God in favor of worshipping himself and his own greed.

So, Judas did not go to Hell for betraying Jesus Christ, he went to Hell because he did not accept God as his creator and Jesus Christ as his personal savior. Judas used his free will, to reject instead of accept long before he was used by God to betray Jesus Christ.

Who says that Judas is in hell? We have no idea where he ended up. I've thought about it and speculate that he might be in hell for having committed suicide. Suicide is a grave sin and you can't repent after you're dead. But we don't know for now. If you get to Heaven, ask St. Peter if Judas made it there as well. Then you will know.

Judas was given space to repent.
He went to hell because he allowed himself to be used in a conspiracy of lies to kill an innocent man.
(God's will could have been fulfilled by anyone, but Judas made the decision to betray Jesus.)

The piece of bread did not make Judas choose to betray Jesus. It merely identified him. Judas did this of his own free will. Just because God already knows who accepts him and rejects him does not mean that they do not have free will.

Judas had free will just like every other human being. Certainly God foresaw His choices, just as God has foreseen each of our choices, because He is outside of time and is eternally seeing every event that occurs within time. However, that doesn't make our choices any less free, and it didn't make Judas's choices any less free. If Judas is condemned to Hell (and we cannot be certain about that), it was because of His own choices of free will, dictated by his own personal greed.

Judas replaced right into a severe-score Zealot a sect of militant Jews offended on the Roman occupation of their fatherland. ‘Iscariot,’ what a lot of human beings have self belief to be his ‘final call’ replaced into certainly a bastardization of the Latin sicarius, a curved dagger the Zealots could use like a shiv on their enemies. Judas believed Jesus to be the Messiah, however the rabbinic concept of the time replaced into that the ‘Messiah’ could be a useful hero who could expel the Romans from Judea by stress (ala Samson), something Jesus replaced into no longer. Judas’ movements have been an attempt to ‘kickstart’ that expulsion by using the two the Jews killing Jesus and then marching on Pilate or Jesus making use of his powers to provide up the Jews and then do an analogous. while Judas discovered that the Jews had finished the non violent component and surpassed Jesus over to Pilate quite of stoning him instant, Judas figured that Jesus could call him (Judas) for what he replaced into (the Romans hated the Zealots) in an attempt to earnings leniency, so he hung himself. Suicide, besides the indisputable fact that, nevertheless a sin interior the Hebrew Bible, seems to have been a suitable selection for the Zealots, as in seventy 3 advert, while the 10th Roman legion stormed the Jewish fort of Masada, the Zealots held up interior of killed themselves quite them be positioned into slavery. whether Judas is in hell or no longer, I don’t understand.
