I only read your initial question--your follow-up points got too boring too fast.
The only people that are confused about the nature of God are those that refuse to accept the truth revealed by living prophets today. For instance, the so called Born Again "Christian" movement is confused beyond measure as to the nature and kind of being God is. However, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are not confused at all--thanks to the revelations God Himself has revealed to his servants, the prophets. We know for instance that God is a resurrected man. That God and man are of the same race, that God is literally (not figuratively) our Father in heaven, and we are literally his spirit children. God has a body, of glorified material, he is perfect in all attributes, he has all knowledge, all power, all mercy, and all charity. And since He is literally our father and we are literally His children we can become like Him if we are faithful. He lives in the family unit and is a real being who knows each one of us and wants to guide us back to enjoy the same kind of life that He lives--called Eternal life.
When people are NOT led by prophets they tend to believe the nonsense commonly taught by the born again bunch. When people ARE taught by living prophets they know and understand the simple and majestic truth about God the Father and His son Jesus Christ.
And thanks to living prophets, there you have the confusion all cleared up.

You have certainly waxed eloquent, but to what end? I think perhaps we should simplify your dilemma; if you are truly seeking God and you realize your need for Him. then perhaps it is time to realize that your sin is what blocks your relationship with God. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23. Then read Romans 6:23, 5:7-10; 10:9,10. If you wait until you are dead, then it is too late. Indeed you do have a choice, Jesus died for your sins or you pay for your sins under God's holy wrath for eternity. You choose.

on a similar time as i'm useful Jesus did no longer audit Pianka's classification, it does look the two are on the comparable or comparable web site. study the e book of Revelation, there a minimum of three/4 of the earth’s inhabitants would be destroyed, yet for entirely distinctive motives than the Nutty Professor foists. Ebola Reston, Ebola Zaire, poultry Flu, TB, Earthquakes,Pestilence, Famine, Heavenly Angels with Flaming Swords? the two way, the Apocalypse cometh. i'd strongly recommend you ‘prepare to fulfill your Maker’.(hint: His call is Jesus)!

I believe God keeps himself distanced from us because we have to face the trials of our earthly existence on our own, with only a guiding hand here and there from Him. This way, He is able to determine whether we are fit to go to Heaven or not. If He told us everything, then there would be no free agency, and there would be no point to our existence on Earth.

Then stop thinking.
Why are you making "God" into some powerful entity that is separate from you?
God isn't some bearded old man on a big armchair on a cloud, you know.
