you can if you use a lot of products to frizz it out but it won't look the same and will take a lot of work

I am an asian girl who has always wanted to sport dreadlocks, and according to one of the books I have read, all hair has the potential to lock into curls if you let it spiral into that shape. I can sort of imagine this might be true because all hair tends to grow in a clockwise or counterclock-wise whorl from the scalp. But I haven't tested this out, and I can't imagine ever letting my hair go without brushing it unless I decided to become a hermit for a while. Here's a link with a faq about dreadlocks.
