How long did it take you to realize the one you were dating was "The One"? I have known my gf for almost 2 years and we have dated for almost 6 months now. I have never felt what I feel for anyone else. What made you realize you had found the right one?

Dude there is no such thing as 'the one' it is an unrealistic expectation to believe that in your entire life time you will only find happiness with one person and too bad if they are already taken or they pass away really quickly and thats it for you no more happiness with anyone else. There is however the person that makes you happy and that you can not imagine living your life without them. Something about it just feels right and when you think about spending the rest of your life with them and dont get a weird feeling then thats the first step, but it is also about having the same life goals, children, location, money health are all significant factors that need to be considred because love is simply just not enough, relationships are hard work and you need to know that you are both working for the same thing. If you answered yes to all of those things then you are defintely on the right path. Oh and the question is why do you need someone to confirm how you feel for her, dont ask how we know they were right for us, ask your self, and if you need to ask then you are not ready yet, but sounds like you might be soon. It may sound cheesy but I knew it the moment I layed eyes on him. I knew that he was The One and that I would spend the rest of my life with him. That was 4 years ago and we have a beautiful little girl together (3 1/2 years old...we did not waste much time as you can see), and one baby on the way. He is all I ever wanted, what I have been waiting for!
I was just instantly attracted to him and when we exchanged numbers and talked for hours and hours, we found out how much we had in common and how well we got along. When it is the right one, you will totally know it!

When she is the first thing you want to see in the morning and the last thing you want to see before you close your eyes and go to sleep at night. When you know you are whole when you are together. When you can't imagine your life without her.
It only took me a few minutes with my husband to know he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. We had almost 5 years together before he died, and that was the worst day of my life, but I have some beautiful memories that will never die. I learned that life can be short, so take advantage of every minute while you can. I wish you luck and God be with you.

I have been married and divorced so I guess you might say I know what I don't want. In my past relationships, arguing and bickering seemed to be the way we would communicate after a while. With the girl I'm with now, we don't even argue. I can think of two disagreements we have had in almost nine months, and neither of them escalated past a discussion to work things out. If you can communicate with her and deep in your heart you know that without her you would be miserable, then that is how you know!
