Karma is a law... just like in real life, you'll have to pay for the crime you did, you 'll also get reward for the nice things you've done.
some of you might think why there are some bad people live to old age? why isn't there Karma for them who commit a crime? why let those Nazis die at old age... but try think another way, these people live to old age, but maybe their family die before him (which do not consider as a blessing), maybe they live to suffer, regret for what they did. or..... maybe, the consequences of the evil thing they did will be paid by their sons, daughters, their family........ maybe, the bad things will come back to him in his next life.....
Karma is true. every religion teaches us to be good. if we are kind, we can go to heaven. this is also consider as Karma (even though some religion doesn't believe in the next life, but they do believe God knows what they did).
some people always lucky in everything they do, rich and healthy. other people say life is not fair. why? maybe these people did a lot of good thing in their previous life or their ancestor did a lot of good thing and the sons/daughters get the good Karma from their ancestors. so, if you think you lead a very good life NOW, meaning maybe you are a kind person and accumulate a lot of good Karma in your previous life. to maintain your good Karma, continue to do more good things in this life.

Karma is a basic law of material nature, which binds the actions and resultant reactions of various activities in an even balance.
The universe as a whole is structured on a perfect system of synchronicity of duality, hot and cold, up and down, left and right, etc, etc.
The same equal and opposite effect of our individual activities is also controlled in the same way, colloquially it is stated "what goes around comes around" or in Biblical philosophy "as you sow, so you shall reap", "the measure that you give, will be the measure that you get" , the difference with Karma, is it is relevant over past lives and future lives.
Considering we "reap" so much, just by being born, means we had to sow it at sometime, this was in a previous life, this is not difficult to understand once we realise that we are spirit soul and not the material body, which is constituted of molecules and atomic particles.
There are three types of activities or Karma, sat karma which are good pious activities, which create a good favourable reaction, vi karma which are impious activities which bind us more and more in the repitition of birth and death and finally, also most importantly, "a" karma which are devotional/spiritual activities that revive the original spiritual body that is temporarily covered by a gross and subtle material form, that we falsely identify to be ourselves.
"A" karmic activities must be performed under the guidance of a bona fide spiritual master, in a chain of disciplic succession, who removes the reactions of previous karma, both pious and impious and guides the living entity back home, back to Godhead.

Karma is Sanskrit and simply means "action". Karma is what you do. Karma is neither good or bad, but the way we perceive our experiences we often interpret good or bad (as in does it hurt me or help me, etc). Whatever you do the same will be done to you. Whether you experience the same action as "bad" or "evil" is definately a matter of perspective. Of course, that said, one should always remember that the same is true in reverse. You may engage in an action that you think is completely "good", and yet the recipients of the action may perceive them as "bad". The karma will still play itself out and come back to you and you may perceive the very same action as "bad", too, or may perceive the same action as "good".
There is a saying in Hinduism "There is no evil, there is only ignorance."
This is said because it is ignorance which blinds us from facing reality. When we live consciously we are more able to think about the consequences of our actions and if we live a life of dharma whereby we strive to see God in all things and all persons and thus try to show the same respect, honor, humility that we show to God then our actions should always turn out to have a positive impact on others. "our actions should themselves raise people up not tear them down so that we, too, can be lifted up on the karmic return as well." Ignorance would keep us from even realizing the effects of our actions until after we have acted and ignorance would prevent us from realizing that if the entire universe manifested out of God, then we should be treated the entire universe the same way we treat God.
That's the Hindu perspective anyways.

Yes. and there are many examples where the bad results were not seen in this birth....reincarnation is the reply
This life is a continuous stream of births and deaths and Karma play a very important role in this stream...
The karma we do today are deciding our future birth

Hi - Is karma real? I dunno. I have seen people who have lead bad lives get "screwed" in the end. Similarly, I have seen people who live good lives get "lucky" (whatever that means).
But, unfortunately, cases of the reverse can also be found (see "Why to Bad Things Happen to Good People").
My feeling would be that if you surround yourself with good people, if you are good to those people, then they will in turn be good back to you and that's a nice way to count on Karma. Similarly, the reverse is true with bad people and bad acts. If you hang around drug dealers and sell a little stuff on the side then your Karma will likely get you shot or thrown in jail.
Not much mystery there.

the bottom line of Karma is "goes around comes around" yes.
sometimes now, sometimes later, sometimes not even in the current life.
if your lucky, you'll get it back sooner rather than later.
I almost feel sorry for reallybad people who die in a peaceful way.... because all that bad stuff is gonna fall on them like a ton of bricks, and it'd be alot better for them to have gotten it back in their mortal life.

It's true that your reap what you sow. I know I've done things before that has come back to haunt me many times.

as to whether or not it is true, that is a trick question, as this all depends on what you believe as "true". I myself, have seen it happen, but rarely.
I believe it happens, more often than not, but I also believe that souls live many lives (reincarnation), and that karma carries over from one to the next. Often karma is meted out in your next life, whether it be good karma, or bad. (There's GOOD karma, too!)

karma basically states that everything you do comes back to you. If you do good things, you will be rewarded with good things, if you do evil, evil will be returned to you. And yes, ask my sister, heck as anyone that does evil to me, it hits and it hits hard!
