it does not matter which religion you pick, if you reject God, you have to live a perfect life, and do no evil, of harm.
to have a chance of no going to hell.
the bible says that in the final judgement, those that do not accept Jesus will be judged on their works.

Buddhism
Jainism
Taoism
There is no "god" in these religions and there is no "hell" either. The Buddha is just a teacher and Buddha never answered the question "is there a god" he left that up to the individual person (he felt the question was irrelevant). Mahavira, founder of Jainism, said that "if there is a god all that can be said is 'it is'". Jains, like Buddhists, don't see the question as relevant. Taoism has no god and makes the point over and over again in its sacred texts that what Tao is cannot be put into words it can only be experienced and that Tao is not a god or divine being, etc, etc, etc.
Hinduism has no hell either, but does have a belief in God. However the defination of God does vary from sect to sect, but ultimately God is seen as being Brahman....or as it translates appropriately from Sanskrit "expanding consciousness". From the Hindu perspective God is the ground of being for the entire universe, that which the universe came out of and that which the universe is. Whether the Hindu takes a monotheistic, monistic, dualistic, or atheistic approach depends greatly on the individual and their own study of sacred texts and study of themselves. The various philosophical schools of thoughts, denominations, and sects all have varied beliefs and the individual Hindu can learn from them all and mix them to explain their own individual experiences and perspectives of "God".
Most Eastern religions generally do not have a concept of hell, though, and their view on "god" is varied (and often left up to the individual to choose from amongst the varied beliefs...and within all these myriad of thoughts it is believed that they are merely different paths, different perspectives on the same thing).

No, you are not an atheist.
You have labeled yourself as such because you have decided that you dont WANT there to be a God, not that you don't believe there to be one. You can't escape God , by finding some religion that lets you reject him and not burn in hell. You believe in hell, and well you should. The Good news is that you don't HAVE to burn in hell, and you don't even have to join a religion. The bible says, that For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that Whosever believeth in him, should not perish but have everlasting life. (john 3:16) See how simple he made it for you. Nor rituals, no memberships, no works of righteoulsness to get you there, all he aks is that you recieve this free gift. Just pray for it, and you will get it. You'll see. Don't confuse salvation with religion.

Some sects of Christianity.
Hell is something not worth worrying about.
God is either benevolent or not.
If God is benevolent, then he cares enough for you that he would ensure your passage into Heaven. Yes, even if you reject him. After all, he gave you the means to reject him; it is beyond him to punish you for it.
On the other hand, if people do burn in Hell, then that means that God is cruel enough to send at least one person there. A god with that kind of sadistic bloodlust cannot be trusted. He has no problem tormenting someone for all eternity. Such a being is not above lying. For all you know, your worship of him is just a cruel joke he's playing. Such a god cannot be trusted; you cannot choose whether you go to Hell or not.

Jehovah's Witnesses don't beleive in a burning hell. It's only mankinds grave, whereas the Lake of fire is total destruction where we hope to avoid. However, how many people do u know who truly want to die at all. We all want to live forever and only thru repentence, faith and fine works do we get a chance for that hope in God's due time.

Judaism as well.
Judaism has no eternal hell as christianity has, and does not claim that unbelievers are punished for not believing.
in fact judaism even has the concept of a "Righteous Gentile" someone who does not belive, but is a good enough person that they get into heaven anyway.
though judaism isn't actually all that specific about beliefs on the afterlife, and deals with this world.
edit: looking over other answers... its amazing how many people seem to overlook the lil ol religion that Christianity and islam stem from, and that Jesus himself belonged to.... isn't it interesting how Judaism does NOT have this idea, yet the offshoots do?

All of them. They might threaten you with Hell, if you don't believe in God, but since neither exist, it's only an empty threat. You can be in any religion and reject God. You still won't go to any Hell.

Buddhists do not believe in a God(s).
Hell can be a description for a state of mind after death, but it is by no means eternal and it is not a physical place. Psychologically speaking, it is one of many possible dreamlike states or visions that are dependent on your mental condition at death.

According to the Bible, you having nothing to worry about either way. A loving creator would not add insult to injury by torturing you in hellfire when you die . After all "The living are conscious that they will die;but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all..."(Eccl.9:5,10). Moreover, "The wages sin pays is death"(Rom 6:23),period. How fair would it be to have to pay for any sins that you've already died for?

Well what religions don't believe in hell? There are some sects of Christians that deny Hell. But, what sense does this make? You should become an agnostic or freethinker.
