I've never met any violent, rude, pushy Christians. Most are sincerly worried for people's eternal well-being and want to get the message out by just telling it like it is, and like the Bible (God's Word) says it.
I do, however, think others just don't want to hear the cold hard truth that all have sinned and are fallen short of the glory of God. All we need to do is repent (be sorry for our sins) and ask God to forgive us and simply believe Christ died for us and rose again so that He may recieve us unto Himself when He comes back for us one day to spend life eternal with Him in Heaven. Is that rude? I call it concern, you call it what you want to. That's your choice.

Looking at these answers to ur question, It seems that every one that's not a believer are stuck on the history of Christianity and past history of someone trying to convert them but ur question was not answer to what is going on now especially on this site. I have never converted anyone unless they question my beliefs in my community. I don't witness to those who reject God and have made their minds up because God has given them over to a reprobate mind and they are a lost cause. On this site, unbelievers do not want you to answer their questions unless they title it for "Christians only" etc... They don't want you to question them and their beliefs but they don't realize this forum is free to all to answer so they attack and say that you are shoving ur beliefs down their throat. We as Christians should not be lump with those who do try to convert them. We as Christians should not be seen as violent or rude when these people do not know us especially on the Internet. The people who have done outrageous things are accountable as individuals not the Christianity as a whole and those who follow it. It is unfair and immoral to think that all Christians are violent and rude. A person that thinks that way are delusional and ignorant. It's GOD that they hate and sadly those who believe in him.

Why only ask "how are we violent?" Are you conceding to the "rude and pushing our beliefs on others" part? I don't generalize and say that ALL Christians are anything. Some are rude, some push their beliefs and others don't. As for the violence...how can you be virtually violent?

I think most people who come against christians and say we are violent and push our beliefs on others have had a bad experience in their past in dealing with people who called themselves christians and though they might of been did something to upset or anger someone and instead of letting that anger go people tend to hold on to it and it ends up growing into bitterness that they harbor inside toward any christian they see or meet......it happens alot..... we are to be an example of Jesus here on earth and yet there are those who call themselves christians that like I said might be but dont handle themselves as such.
I dont think its fair to judge all christians because a person might of had a bad experience with a few others......its like judging and labling us before a person gets to know us. People have to learn to put the past behind them and move on....let the anger and bitterness go.....it will only hurt a person more to hold it inside.....give it to God and forgive just as He forgave us all and move on with life.
I hope this helped out some. God bless you!!

Some Christians do threaten violence. I have had bomb threats at my store and have had the threat of my house being burned to ashes both incidents stem from a local Christian group.
That being said, I am not one to throw out the baby with the bath water. Not all Christians behave this way, and I will not judge an entire group for the actions of a few.

Because that is what the world has come to. The bad apples stand out especially when you preach love, peace and forgiveness. Abortion is a good example. I am sick of Christians (speaking in general) pushing their ideals on non-believers. When we do not agree they keep on and on. Especially with hypothetical questions. You are not going to change our views so just stop, ok? That is my two cents worth.

You push laws to punish people for doing nothing but violating your religious convictions. Moving the violence one step away to have the state carry it out for you does not relieve you of the culpability for it. Every prisoner in jail on only drug charges is a victom of Christian violence.
Then there's also the wars the US is presently executing supported almost exclusively by Christians. This is another case of using the state to carry out the violence inhenrent in Christianity.
A little discussed fact about the Jewish holocaust is that it was widely supported by western Christians as well. It was only after the extent of it was revealed that they dissasocaited themeselves from it.
Of course, it'd be easy enough to bring up the rest of the past 2000 years of violence as well. A few decades without DIRECT persecution is hardly evidence of a change of character.
In Africa, direct persecution of nonchristians by Christian mobs is still widespread even today.

Christians are not usually that violent.
However, I have a good example.
My best friend is gay and came out of the closet recently.
Some of his family has basically disowned him. They don't treat him kindly any more. They odn't want to associate with him.
That's not murder, but it's not very nice.
Bush tried to push the Federal Marriage Amendment. Just who is he attacking?
Need I say more?
Also, any time they encounter someone practicing another religion, deep down they often think that they're wrong, they're in the wrong religion, they need help, they need Jesus or else they're going to hell, etc.
Most Christians are cool. It's the fanatics, the extremists, that I worry about.
