I want to place a real pic of myself instead of an avatar. I went into edit profile but can't seem to figure it out. Can someone please help me I guess I'm too stupid to figure it out.

go to ur yahoo profile and change it that way click on browse ans search a pic u want up there

You need a 360 account in order to upload your photo in Yahoo Answers.
First get 360 account here:
http://360.yahoo.com/
click "my page" at the top of the page.
click the "edit my photo" on left side
Browse the picture you want to upload - it must be jpeg format and 100 x 100 pixels in size.
Click the button set as Primary and SAVE
then
go to Yahoo Answers and click on you avatar
Click "edit my information"
click the button "use my 360 picture"
Click Preview and OK

I think you have to create a 360 account, then put ur pic on there. Then, you can select that pic to be ur pic on yahoo answer
