Isopropyl is like cooler and it doesn't dry the skin much compared to ethyl. So, if u mean rubbing alcohol and technically and literally, you are just gonna use it for that purpose, isopropyl is better.

For rubbing alcohol, they are both safe. The only thing is that some manufacturers put some acetone in the ethyl alcohol to keep the alcoholics from drinking it. That's why the different odor. If you want a purer product use the Isopropyl.

Isopropyl. You can drink Ethyl Alcohol (Ethanol or grain alcohol). Most anti-microbe gels you see around society are based on Ethyl Alcohol.

It depends what you're going to use them for. One is rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) and the other (ethyl alcohol) is a fermented product used in alcoholic beverages.

Isopropyl alcohol, is used for rubbing, commonly used in hospitals. It evaporates quickly and cools and soothes the skin, especially itchy bite, also be used as an antiseptic for sterilising surfaces or clean minor cuts or abrasions.
Ethyl Alcohol is great for car fuel, alcoholic beverages, also used in solvents, perfumes, paint tinctures, used as medical wipes, commons antibacterial hand sanitiser gels. Can cause skin and eye irritation in pure form.
Hope this helps

I seriously hope you're not considering drinking either of these. Kidney failure is one of the options you might face. Neither one is for drinking. As far as on the skin, Isophropyl is safe to use.
Why the question? Dangerous for what?

It all depends how you use them, and for what purpose.
In the Beginning God created heavens and earth.
God gives you air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives you water to drink and food to eat.
God gives you a wonderful body and sound mind, to live.
God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation.
Jesus’ love is boundless and everlasting.
We have the hope of Heaven through Jesus.
Life therefore has fantastic and glorious future!
(Digestion of above can even prevent depression and suicide attempt.)
