About five years ago, i got saved and baptised. But i got too obsesive about God. Now i pray all the time, every day. I have been doin this pretty much since i got saved. But now i have gotten really bad. I still love God, but I think that satan is makeing me think that i have done bad things. Like once i made eye contact with this guy on a bike and thought something like " he might crash and die" but it fells like i tried to hurt him, even though nothing was gonna happen. I have done this stuff before. I guess what started this was the fear of going to Hell. even though I am not, satan is trying to bring me down and ruin my life. maybe i need stuff to get my mind off things. thanks for reading, but i will never kill myself, that sends you to Hell, and it wont help.

Its satan that is makeing me like i have truly done horrible things. like if something bads gonna happen, i pause for no reason, i think i hear a voice saying like "dont help them out, let 'em get hurt". but then it makes me think, if i really have done these things, horrible things would be coming to me. karma. but nothing really out of the ordinary.

First of all, I think that is great that you found a spiritual path. However, it seems that you are lacking faith. And, I think that an underlying psychiatric disorder is to blame. From what you have written, it's somewhat apparent that you may be suffering from some form of OCD. It is also, sounds that you may be having psychotic episodes (i.e., hearing voices). So, I suggest that you seek some professional help.
You should also remember that your thoughts are not going to hurt anyone but yourself. You are simply not that powerful. I feel that some of your fellow parishioners can make you feel and/or that way. I highly suggest that you take an honest look into your faith, since spirituality should only cause you evolve as a person; not hinder your growth and make you feel awful about yourself.
There is also a major difference between 'religion' and spirituality’, which I think you should look into for yourself. And, like I previously said, there may just be some people in your fellowship that are reinforcing your negative feelings through theirown personal beliefs and religious fervor.

One of the most positive passages in the bible concerning spiritual warfare is found in:
Ephesians Chapter 6: Verses - 10 thru - 18.

Psalm 4:8
John 16:33
The Lord in his death and Resurrection, has taken away your sins and has given you salvation. Rebuke Satan in the name of Jesus and Satan must flee. Read the Psalms when you can and pray, the Lord will always be near. Ask a spirit filled person from the church pray with you and may feel the love of God in your life. Remember that Satan will lose the battle in the end.

If it weren't for my fear of hell I'd have off'd myself years ago. I went through a stage where I felt very close to God. And now I'm in this weird transitional period where I am sort of learning and gathering information from different sects of different religions, including Christianity. Ultimately I believe that too many people have chosen religion over rationality. I still pray several times a day, but it's no where as formal as it once was. Sometimes I feel a guilt over this lost relationship...but then I realize it was all mostly in my head to begin with.

I'm surprised you posted this question in the mental health section instead of the religion section. You seem pretty determined that it's satan, so I'm wondering why you've even asked for input.

Only you can control your thoughts and the only person who is responsible for them is you. If you're not doing terrible things (and thinking something terrible might happen is certainly not a terrible thing,) then you need to tell those thoughts to shut up. People are learning to control their thoughts all the time.

You need to pray about finding the TRUTH........that is from the bible not mans thinking.

Do you really think a God of love would burn people forever as their punishment for being sinful? The wages sin pays is ==== death.
Jesus died for our sins so we have a chance to do our best in serving God and recieving everlasting life...............as the bible teaches 144,000 chosen will go to heaven and an unnumbered amount will live on earth.........people who sincerely want to do good and worship the true God........Jehovah.
Faith without works are dead......Actions speak ......as Jesus said his followers will be known from there actions...........love among themselves...not getting involved with wars, politics, preaching as Jesus did about Gods Kingdom being the only hope for mankind....
Would an imperfect parent put their kid in a fire for being naughty?
That is NOT a teaching from the bible.
Dust you are and dust you will return............the body decays back into the ground....the spirit [life force] goes back to the one that gave it and the SOUL DIES. God will remember those dead and there will be a resurrection ........

Satan would love for you to feel you are causing bad things.....no......Satan causes plenty and mans imperfections cause plenty..........and as the bible speaks of....unforeseen occurences befall us all........

If you are really sincere..............pray to find the truth and God will bring it to you and then it's up to you to realize and accept it.

Make sure you are shown from the bible to back up what people teach. And 1 scripture in the whole book taken literal does not do it. Sometimes you have to look and compare others around it or even in a different part that is similar. And even researching into the greek and hebrew language to get the exact definition.....The right religon will have done this for their people and can back up their beliefs with the bible...............Jehovah's Witnesses can do this. It's all right there and you can be shown it also..........doesn't hurt anything to check into it and to give it a chance. Don't let Satan blind you as he does with many.

If you love God then don't worry about satan. God will take care of you. He's always watching you. You just need to get satan off your mind! Look at all the beautiful things around us. The fall. The leaves. The air. The children and the happiness they bring. Think about Jesus and his birthday coming up! Christmas trees! Songs to sing! Cookies to bake! Don't think about lucifer. Let him burn. Think about giving and singing and Love Love Love!

This is a perfect case of one of the worst cases that religion can bring you. See this man people? This is what can happen when the scheme of religion works ALL TOO WELL. It's not as bad as some nut job suicide bomber, but this poor guy is distraught all over some BS that his parents instilled in his head.

Any way, sir, understand that religion is a fake ploy and is exactly whats making you so damn paranoid. Your hurting yourself over some completely false things. Just realize that nothing silly like making eye contact with some one will kill them.

My suggestion: Take up an art. A physical one. Martial arts will change your thinking, I know it did mine. It will show you the path of discipline and self preservation without all the fear and nonsense that religion brings you.

You remind me of my 77 year old aunt. She does nothing but watch masses, Mother Angelica, does the rosary several times a day and has the stations of the cross lined up in order in her bedroom. She can't even talk anymore. She just quotes scripture and judges how her place is heaven is guaranteed. I think being that obsessive about anything is unhealthy.

If I say, "Hey Buddy cheer up, life is just grand!" Would that help? I truly doubt it. So let me try this. I feel your pain and I "pray" God continues to bless you beyond your wildest dreams.

Feel better?

Thank God for others who care. Add some details to your query so you al least get it out of your system, somewhat.

I get things like that all the time. There just little obsessive thoughts..its basicay your mind being self destructive toward you....making you think bad thoughts that you know are bad to make you feel like a bad person. Just try to ignore those thoughts.
